അർത്ഥഹ് ശഷ്ടാരാജാവിന്റെ എഴുത്തിന്റെ പകർപ്പു രെഹൂമും രായസക്കാരനായ ശിംശായിയും അവരുടെ കൂട്ടക്കാരും വായിച്ചു കേട്ടശേഷം അവർ യെരൂശലേമിൽ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ചെന്നു ബലാൽക്കാരത്തോടെ അവരെ ഹേമിച്ചു പണിമുടക്കി.

Artaxerxes' אַרְתַּחְשַׁ֣שְׂתְּא ʾartaḥšaštāʾ ar-tahk-shahsh-TA
of king מַלְכָּ֔א melek meh-LEK
read קֱרִ֧י qĕrāʾ keh-RA
before קֳדָם qŏdām koh-DAHM
Rehum, רְח֛וּם rĕḥûm reh-HOOM
and Shimshai וְשִׁמְשַׁ֥י šimšay sheem-SHAI
the scribe, סָֽפְרָ֖א sāpēr sa-FARE
and their companions, וּכְנָוָֽתְה֑וֹן kĕnāt keh-NAHT
they went up אֲזַ֨לוּ ʾăzal uh-ZAHL
in haste בִבְהִיל֤וּ bĕhîlû beh-hee-LOO
to Jerusalem לִירֽוּשְׁלֶם֙ yĕrûšālēm yeh-roo-sha-LAME
