ആമോസ് 3

1 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളേ, നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും ഞാൻ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ച സർവ്വവംശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ വചനം കേൾപ്പിൻ!

2 ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലവംശങ്ങളിലുംവെച്ചു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ മാത്രം തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങളിൽ സന്ദർശിക്കും.

3 രണ്ടുപേർ തമ്മിൽ ഒത്തിട്ടല്ലാതെ ഒരുമിച്ചു നടക്കുമോ? ഇരയില്ലാതിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ സിംഹം കാട്ടിൽ അലറുമോ?

4 ഒന്നിനെയും പിടിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ ബാലസിംഹം ഗുഹയിൽനിന്നു ഒച്ച പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുമോ?

5 കുടുക്കില്ലാതിരിക്കെ പക്ഷി നിലത്തെ കണിയിൽ അകപ്പെടുമോ? ഒന്നും പിടിപെടാതെ കണി നിലത്തുനിന്നു പൊങ്ങുമോ?

6 നഗരത്തിൽ കാഹളം ഊതുമ്പോൾ ജനം പേടിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ? യഹോവ വരുത്തീട്ടല്ലാതെ നഗരത്തിൽ അനർത്ഥം ഭവിക്കുമോ?

7 യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു പ്രവാചകന്മാരായ തന്റെ ദാസന്മാർക്കു തന്റെ രഹസ്യം വെളിപ്പെടുത്താതെ ഒരു കാര്യവും ചെയ്കയില്ല.

8 സിംഹം ഗർജ്ജിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ആർ ഭയപ്പെടാതിരിക്കും? യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ആർ പ്രവചിക്കാതിരിക്കും?

9 ശമർയ്യാപർവ്വതങ്ങളിൽ വന്നുകൂടി അതിന്റെ നടുവിലുള്ള മഹാ കലഹങ്ങളെയും അതിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേയുള്ള പീഡനങ്ങളെയും നോക്കുവിൻ എന്നു അസ്തോദിലെ അരമനകളിന്മേലും മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിലെ അരമനകളിന്മേലും ഘോഷിച്ചുപറവിൻ!

10 തങ്ങളുടെ അരമനകളിൽ അന്യായവും സാഹസവും സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നവർ ന്യായം പ്രവർത്തിപ്പാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

11 അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ദേശത്തിന്നു ചുറ്റും ഒരു വൈരി ഉണ്ടാകും; അവൻ നിന്റെ ഉറപ്പു നിങ്കൽനിന്നു താഴ്ത്തിക്കളയും; നിന്റെ അരമനകൾ കൊള്ളയായ്യ്തീരും.

12 യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഒരു ഇടയൻ രണ്ടു കാലോ ഒരു കാതോ സിംഹത്തിന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു വലിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ശമർയ്യയിൽ കിടക്കയുടെ കോണിലും പട്ടുമെത്തമേലും ഇരിക്കുന്ന യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടും.

13 നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടു യാക്കോബ്ഗൃഹത്തോടു സാക്ഷീകരിപ്പിൻ എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

14 ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ അതിക്രമങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം അവനെ സന്ദർശിക്കുന്ന നാളിൽ ബലിപീഠത്തിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകൾ മുറിഞ്ഞു നിലത്തു വീഴുവാന്തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ ബേഥേലിലെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങളെയും സന്ദർശിക്കും.

15 ഞാൻ ഹേമന്തഗൃഹവും ഗ്രീഷ്മഗൃഹവും ഒരുപോലെ തകർത്തുകളയും; ദന്തഭവനങ്ങൾ നശിച്ചുപോകും; പലവീടുകളും മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

1 Hear this word that the Lord hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,

2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?

5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?

6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?

7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord God hath spoken, who can but prophesy?

9 Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.

10 For they know not to do right, saith the Lord, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.

11 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; An adversary there shall be even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled.

12 Thus saith the Lord; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.

13 Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord God, the God of hosts,

14 That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Beth-el: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.

15 And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the Lord.
