ശമൂവേൽ-1 20:2
അവൻ അവനോടു: അങ്ങനെ ഭവിക്കരുതേ, നീ മരിക്കയില്ല; എന്റെ അപ്പൻ എന്നെ അറിയിക്കാതെ വലുതോ ചെറുതോ യാതൊന്നും ചെയ്വാറില്ല; പിന്നെ ഈ കാര്യം എന്നെ മറെപ്പാൻ സംഗതി എന്തു? അങ്ങനെ വരികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

| father my | הִנֵּ֡ה | hinnē | hee-NAY |
| will do | לוֹ | lô | loh |
| nothing | יַעֲשֶׂ֨ה | yaʿăśe | ya-uh-SEH |
| אָבִ֜י | ʾābî | ah-VEE | |
| דָּבָ֣ר | dābār | da-VAHR | |
| great | גָּד֗וֹל | gādôl | ɡa-DOLE |
| or | א֚וֹ | ʾô | oh |
| small, either | דָּבָ֣ר | dābār | da-VAHR |
| shew will he that but | קָטֹ֔ן | qāṭōn | ka-TONE |
| it | וְלֹ֥א | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| me: | יִגְלֶ֖ה | yigle | yeeɡ-LEH |
| why and | אֶת | ʾet | et |
| should my father | אָזְנִ֑י | ʾoznî | oze-NEE |
| hide | וּמַדּוּעַ֩ | ûmaddûʿa | oo-ma-doo-AH |
| יַסְתִּ֨יר | yastîr | yahs-TEER | |
| this | אָבִ֥י | ʾābî | ah-VEE |
| thing | מִמֶּ֛נִּי | mimmennî | mee-MEH-nee |
| from | אֶת | ʾet | et |
| me? it | הַדָּבָ֥ר | haddābār | ha-da-VAHR |
| is not | הַזֶּ֖ה | hazze | ha-ZEH |
| so. | אֵ֥ין | ʾên | ane |
| זֹֽאת׃ | zōt | zote |
