അവർ നിഹതന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നഗരവീഥികളിൽ തളർന്നുകിടക്കുമ്പോഴും അമ്മമാരുടെ മാർവ്വിൽവെച്ചു പ്രാണൻ വിടുമ്പോഴും ആഹാരവും വീഞ്ഞും എവിടെ എന്നു അമ്മമാരോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നു.

and wine? וָיָ֑יִן yayin ya-YEEN
when they swooned בְּהִֽתְעַטְּפָ֤ם ʿāṭap ah-TAHF
as the wounded כֶּֽחָלָל֙ ḥālāl ha-LAHL
in the streets בִּרְחֹב֣וֹת rĕḥōb reh-HOVE
of the city, עִ֔יר ʿîr eer
was poured out בְּהִשְׁתַּפֵּ֣ךְ šāpak sha-FAHK
when their soul נַפְשָׁ֔ם nepeš neh-FESH
into אֶל ʾēl ale
bosom. חֵ֖יק ḥêq hake
their mothers' אִמֹּתָֽם׃ ʾēm ame
