കഷ്ടാരിഷ്ടതകളുടെ കാലത്തു യെരൂശലേം പണ്ടത്തെ മനോഹരവസ്തുക്കളെയൊക്കെയും ഓർക്കുന്നു; സഹായിപ്പാൻ ആരുമില്ലാതെ അവളുടെ ജനം വൈരിയുടെ കയ്യിൽ അകപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ, വൈരികൾ അവളെ നോക്കി അവളുടെ നാശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ചിരിച്ചു.
