Jeremiah 12
1 യഹോവേ ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു വാദിച്ചാൽ നീ നീതിമാനായിരിക്കും; എങ്കിലും ന്യായങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ചോദിപ്പാൻ തുനിയുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വഴി ശുഭമായിരിപ്പാൻ സംഗതി എന്തു? ദ്രോഹം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും നിർഭയന്മാരായിരിക്കുന്നതെന്തു?
2 നീ അവരെ നട്ടു അവർ വേരൂന്നി വളർന്നു ഫലം കായിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ വായിൽ നീ സമീപസ്ഥനായും അന്തരംഗത്തിൽ ദൂരസ്ഥനായും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
3 എന്നാൽ യഹോവേ, എന്നെ നീ അറിയുന്നു; നീ എന്നെ കണ്ടു നിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ ശോധനചെയ്യുന്നു; അറുപ്പാനുള്ള ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ അവരെ വലിച്ചിഴെക്കേണമേ; കുലദിവസത്തിന്നായി അവരെ വേറുതിരിക്കേണമേ.
4 ദേശം ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നതും നിലത്തിലെ സസ്യമൊക്കെയും വാടുന്നതും എത്രത്തോളം? നിവാസികളുടെ ദുഷ്ടതനിമിത്തം മൃഗങ്ങളും പക്ഷികളും നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; ഇവൻ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അന്ത്യാവസ്ഥ കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു അവർ പറയുന്നു.
1 Righteous art thou, O Lord, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?
2 Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.
3 But thou, O Lord, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.
4 How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.
