Hosea 9

1 യിസ്രായേലേ, നീ നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തെ വിട്ടു പരസംഗം ചെയ്തുനടക്കയും ധാന്യക്കളങ്ങളിൽ ഒക്കെയും വേശ്യാസമ്മാനം ആഗ്രഹിക്കയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കയാൽ നീ ശേഷം ജാതികളെപ്പോലെ ഘോഷത്തോടെ സന്തോഷിക്കരുതു.

2 കളവും ചക്കും അവരെ പോഷിപ്പിക്കയില്ല, പുതുവിഞ്ഞു അതിൽ ഇല്ലാതെയാകും.

3 അവർ യഹോവയുടെ ദേശത്തു പാർക്കുകയില്ല; എഫ്രയീം മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകയും അശ്ശൂരിൽവെച്ചു മലിനമായതു തിന്നുകയും ചെയ്യും.

4 അവർ യഹോവെക്കു വീഞ്ഞുപകർന്നു അർപ്പിക്കയില്ല; അവരുടെ ഹനനയാഗങ്ങൾ അവന്നു പ്രസാദമായിരിക്കയുമില്ല; അവരുടെ അപ്പം അവർക്കു വിലാപത്തിന്റെ അപ്പംപോലെയിരിക്കും; അതു തിന്നുന്നവനൊക്കെയും അശുദ്ധനായിത്തീരും; അവരുടെ അപ്പം വിശപ്പടക്കുവാൻ മാത്രം അവർക്കു ഉതകും; അതു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു വരികയില്ല.

5 സഭായോഗദിവസത്തിലും യഹോവയുടെ ഉത്സവദിവസത്തിലും നിങ്ങൾ എന്തു ചെയ്യും?

6 അവർ നാശത്തിൽനിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയാൽ മിസ്രയീം അവരെ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർക്കും; മോഫ് അവരെ അടക്കംചെയ്യും; അവരുടെ വെള്ളികൊണ്ടുള്ള മനോഹരസാധനങ്ങൾ തൂവെക്കു അവകാശമാകും; മുള്ളുകൾ അവരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിൽ ഉണ്ടാകും.

7 സന്ദർശനകാലം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; പ്രതികാരദിവസം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ അകൃത്യബാഹുല്യവും മഹാദ്വേഷവും നിമിത്തം പ്രവാചകൻ ഭോഷനും ആത്മപൂർണ്ണൻ ഭ്രാന്തനും എന്നു യിസ്രായേൽ അറിയും.

8 എഫ്രയീം എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നേരെ പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; പ്രവാചകന്നോ അവന്റെ എല്ലാവഴികളിലും വേട്ടക്കാരന്റെ കണിയും അവന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിൽ പകയം നേരിടും.

9 ഗിബെയയുടെ കാലത്തു എന്നപോലെ അവർ വഷളത്വത്തിൽ മുഴുകിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ അവരുടെ അകൃത്യം ഓർത്തു അവരുടെ പാപം സന്ദർശിക്കും.

10 മരുഭൂമിയിൽ മുന്തിരിപ്പഴംപോലെ ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ കണ്ടെത്തി; അത്തിവൃക്ഷത്തിൽ ആദ്യം ഉണ്ടായ തലക്കനിപോലെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ കണ്ടു; ബാൽ-പെയോരിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവർ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ ലജ്ജാബിംബത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചു; അവരുടെ ഇഷ്ടദേവനെപ്പോലെ മ്ളേച്ഛതയുള്ളവരായ്തീർന്നു.

11 എഫ്രയീമിന്റെ മഹത്വം പ്രസവമോ ഗർഭമോ ഗർഭോല്പാദനമോ ഒന്നും ഇല്ലാതാകുംവണ്ണം ഒരു പക്ഷിയെപ്പോലെ പറന്നുപോകും.

12 അവർ മക്കളെ വളർത്തിയാലും ഞാൻ അവരെ ഒരുത്തനും ശേഷിക്കാതവണ്ണം മക്കളില്ലാത്തവരാക്കും; ഞാൻ അവരെ വിട്ടു മാറിപ്പോകുമ്പോൾ അവർക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

13 ഞാൻ എഫ്രയീമിനെ സോർവരെ കണ്ടെടത്തോളം അതു മനോഹരസ്ഥലത്തുള്ളോരു നടുതല ആകുന്നു; എങ്കിലും എഫ്രയീം തന്റെ മക്കളെ ഘാതകന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുചെല്ലേണ്ടിവരും.

14 യഹോവേ, അവർക്കു കൊടുക്കേണമേ; നീ എന്തുകൊടുക്കും? അലസിപ്പോകുന്ന ഗർഭവും വരണ്ട മുലയും അവർക്കു കൊടുക്കേണമേ.

15 അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടതയൊക്കെയും ഗില്ഗാലിൽ സംഭവിച്ചു; അവിടെവെച്ചു അവർ എനിക്കു വെറുപ്പായി; അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ദുഷ്ടതനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ ഇനി അവരെ സ്നേഹിക്കാതെ എന്റെ ആലയത്തിൽനിന്നു അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളയും; അവരുടെ സകല പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും മത്സരികളത്രേ.

16 എഫ്രയീമിന്നു പുഴുക്കുത്തു പിടിച്ചു; അവരുടെ വേർ ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയി; അവർ ഫലം കായിക്കയില്ല; അവർ പ്രസവിച്ചാലും ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ഇഷ്ടകരമായ ഗർഭഫലത്തെ കൊന്നുകളയും.

17 അവർ എന്റെ ദൈവത്തെ അനുസരിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവൻ അവരെ തള്ളിക്കളയും; അവർ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉഴന്നു നടക്കേണ്ടിവരും.

1 Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.

2 The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.

3 They shall not dwell in the Lord’s land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.

4 They shall not offer wine offerings to the Lord, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the Lord.

5 What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the Lord?

6 For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.

7 The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.

8 The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.

9 They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.

10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baal-peor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.

11 As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.

12 Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shall not be a man left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!

13 Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.

14 Give them, O Lord: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.

15 All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.

16 Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.

17 My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.

6 கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய ஜனங்களைச் சந்தித்து, அவர்களுக்கு ஆகாரம் அருளினார் என்று அவள் மோவாப்தேசத்திலே கேள்விப்பட்டு, தன் மருமகளோடேகூட மோவாப் தேசத்திலிருந்து திரும்பிவரும்படி எழுந்து,
Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the Lord had visited his people in giving them bread.

7 தன் இரண்டு மருமக்களோடுங்கூடத் தானிருந்த ஸ்தலத்தை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டாள். யூதாதேசத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போக, அவர்கள் வழிநடக்கையில்,
Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah.

8 நகோமி தன் இரண்டு மருமக்களையும் நோக்கி: நீங்கள் இருவரும் உங்கள் தாய்வீட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போங்கள்; மரித்துப்போனவர்களுக்கும் எனக்கும் நீங்கள் தயைசெய்ததுபோல, கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கும் தயைசெய்வாராக.
And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother’s house: the Lord deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me.

9 கர்த்தர் உங்கள் இருவருக்கும் வாய்க்கும் புருஷனுடைய வீட்டிலே நீங்கள் சுகமாய் வாழ்ந்திருக்கச் செய்வாராக என்று சொல்லி, அவர்களை முத்தமிட்டாள். அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் சத்தமிட்டு அழுது, அவளைப் பார்த்து:
The Lord grant you that ye may find rest, each of you in the house of her husband. Then she kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept.

10 உம்முடைய ஜனத்தண்டைக்கே உம்முடன்கூட வருவோம் என்றார்கள்.
And they said unto her, Surely we will return with thee unto thy people.

11 அதற்கு நகோமி: என் மக்களே, நீங்கள் திரும்பிப்போங்கள்; என்னோடே ஏன் வருகிறீர்கள்? உங்களுக்குப் புருஷராகும்படிக்கு, இனிமேல் என் கர்ப்பத்திலே எனக்குப் பிள்ளைகள் உண்டாகுமோ?
And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?

12 என் மக்களே, திரும்பிப்போங்கள்; நான் வயதுசென்றவள்; ஒரு புருஷனுடன் வாழத்தக்கவளல்ல; அப்படிப்பட்ட நம்பிக்கை எனக்கு உண்டாயிருந்து, நான் இன்று இரவில் ஒரு புருஷனுக்கு வாழ்க்கைப்பட்டு, பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்றாலும்,
Turn again, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons;

13 அவர்கள் பெரியவர்களாகுமட்டும் புருஷருக்கு வாழ்க்கைப்படாதபடிக்கு நீங்கள் பொறுத்திருப்பீர்களோ? அது கூடாது; என் மக்களே, கர்த்தருடைய கை எனக்கு விரோதமாயிருக்கிறதினால், உங்கள்நிமித்தம் எனக்கு மிகுந்த விசனம் இருக்கிறது என்றாள்.
Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the Lord is gone out against me.

14 அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் சத்தமிட்டு அதிகமாய் அழுதார்கள்; ஒர்பாள் தன் மாமியை முத்தமிட்டுப்போனாள்; ரூத்தோ அவளை விடாமல் பற்றிக் கொண்டாள்.
And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.

15 அப்பொழுது அவள்: இதோ, உன் சகோதரி தன் ஜனங்களிடத்துக்கும் தன் தேவர்களிடத்துக்கும் திரும்பிப் போய்விட்டாளே; நீயும் உன் சகோதரியின் பிறகே திரும்பிப்போ என்றாள்.
And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.

16 அதற்கு ரூத்: நான் உம்மைப் பின்பற்றாமல் உம்மைவிட்டுத் திரும்பிப் போவதைக்குறித்து, என்னோடே பேசவேண்டாம்; நீர் போகும் இடத்திற்கு நானும் வருவேன்; நீர் தங்கும் இடத்திலே நானும் தங்குவேன்; உம்முடைய ஜனம் என்னுடைய ஜனம்; உம்முடைய தேவன் என்னுடைய தேவன்.
And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

17 நீர் மரணமடையும் இடத்தில் நானும் மரணமடைந்து, அங்கே அடக்கம்பண்ணப்படுவேன்; மரணமேயல்லாமல் வேறொன்றும் உம்மை விட்டு என்னைப் பிரித்தால், கர்த்தர் அதற்குச் சரியாகவும் அதற்கு அதிகமாகவும் எனக்குச் செய்யக்கடவர் என்றாள்.
Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.
