Ecclesiastes 2
12 ഞാൻ ജ്ഞാനവും ഭ്രാന്തും ഭോഷത്വവും നോക്കുവാൻ തിരിഞ്ഞു; രാജാവിന്റെ ശേഷം വരുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യും? പണ്ടു ചെയ്തതു തന്നേ.
13 വെളിച്ചം ഇരുളിനെക്കാൾ ശ്രേഷ്ഠമായിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ജ്ഞാനം ഭോഷത്വത്തെക്കാൾ ശ്രേഷ്ഠമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു.
14 ജ്ഞാനിക്കു തലയിൽ കണ്ണുണ്ടു; ഭോഷൻ ഇരുട്ടിൽ നടക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ അവർക്കു എല്ലാവർക്കും ഗതി ഒന്നു തന്നേ എന്നു ഞാൻ ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
15 ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ എന്നോടു: ഭോഷന്നും എനിക്കും ഗതി ഒന്നു തന്നേ; പിന്നെ ഞാൻ എന്തിന്നു അധികം ജ്ഞാനം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഇതും മായയത്രേ എന്നു ഞാൻ മനസ്സിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.
16 ഭോഷനെക്കുറിച്ചാകട്ടെ ജ്ഞാനിയെക്കുറിച്ചാകട്ടെ ശാശ്വതമായ ഓർമ്മയില്ല; വരുംകാലത്തും അവരെ ഒക്കെയും മറന്നുപോകും; അയ്യോ ഭോഷൻ മരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ജ്ഞാനിയും മരിക്കുന്നു;
12 And I turned myself to behold wisdom, and madness, and folly: for what can the man do that cometh after the king? even that which hath been already done.
13 Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness.
14 The wise man’s eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all.
15 Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity.
16 For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.

Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness.
14 ജ്ഞാനിക്കു തലയിൽ കണ്ണുണ്ടു; ഭോഷൻ ഇരുട്ടിൽ നടക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ അവർക്കു എല്ലാവർക്കും ഗതി ഒന്നു തന്നേ എന്നു ഞാൻ ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

16 ഭോഷനെക്കുറിച്ചാകട്ടെ ജ്ഞാനിയെക്കുറിച്ചാകട്ടെ ശാശ്വതമായ ഓർമ്മയില്ല; വരുംകാലത്തും അവരെ ഒക്കെയും മറന്നുപോകും; അയ്യോ ഭോഷൻ മരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ജ്ഞാനിയും മരിക്കുന്നു;
For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.
