Deuteronomy 2
9 അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു: മോവാബ്യരെ ഞെരുക്കരുതു; അവരോടു പടയെടുക്കയും അരുതു; ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ദേശത്തു നിനക്കു ഒരു അവകാശം തരികയില്ല; ആർദേശത്തെ ഞാൻ ലോത്തിന്റെ മക്കൾക്കു അവകാശമായി കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു -
10 വലിപ്പവും പെരുപ്പവും അനാക്യരെപ്പോലെ പൊക്കവുമുള്ള ജാതിയായ ഏമ്യർ പണ്ടു അവിടെ പാർത്തിരുന്നു.
11 ഇവരെ അനാക്യരെപ്പോലെ മല്ലന്മാർ എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചുവരുന്നു; മോവാബ്യരോ അവർക്കു ഏമ്യർ എന്നു പേർ പറയുന്നു.
12 ഹോർയ്യരും പണ്ടു സേയീരിൽ പാർത്തിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഏശാവിന്റെ മക്കൾ അവരെ തങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളകയും സംഹരിക്കയും അവർക്കു പകരം കുടിപാർക്കയും ചെയ്തു; യിസ്രായേലിന്നു യഹോവ കൊടുത്ത അവകാശദേശത്തു അവർ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ. -
13 ഇപ്പോൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു സേരെദ് തോടു കടപ്പിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നാം സേരെദ് തോടു കടന്നു;
14 നാം കാദേശ് ബർന്നേയയിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടതുമുതൽ സേരെദ് തോടു കടക്കുംവരെയുള്ള കാലം മുപ്പത്തെട്ടു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു; അതിന്നിടയിൽ യോദ്ധാക്കളായിരുന്ന തലമുറ ഒക്കെയും യഹോവ അവരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ പാളയത്തിൽനിന്നു മുടിഞ്ഞുപോയി.
15 അവർ മുടിഞ്ഞുതീരുംവരെ യഹോവയുടെ കൈ അവരെ പാളയത്തിൽനിന്നു നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവർക്കു വിരോധമായിരുന്നു.
16 ഇങ്ങനെ യോദ്ധാക്കൾ ഒക്കെയും ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു മരിച്ചു ഒടുങ്ങിയശേഷം
17 യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു:
18 നീ ഇന്നു ആർ എന്ന മോവാബ്യദേശത്തുകൂടി കടപ്പാൻ പോകുന്നു.
19 അമ്മോന്യരോടു അടുത്തു ചെല്ലുമ്പോൾ അവരെ ഞെരുക്കരുതു; അവരോടു പടയെടുക്കയും അരുതു; ഞാൻ അമ്മോന്യരുടെ ദേശത്തു നിനക്കു അവകാശം തരികയില്ല; അതു ഞാൻ ലോത്തിന്റെ മക്കൾക്കു അവകാശമായി കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. -
20 അതും മല്ലന്മാരുടെ ദേശമെന്നു വിചാരിച്ചുവരുന്നു; മല്ലന്മാർ പണ്ടു അവിടെ പാർത്തിരുന്നു; അമ്മോന്യർ അവരെ സംസുമ്മ്യർ എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
21 അവർ വലിപ്പവും പെരുപ്പവും അനാക്യരെപ്പോലെ പൊക്കവുമുള്ള ജാതിയായിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും യഹോവ അവരെ അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു നശിപ്പിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ അവരുടെ ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കി അവരുടെ സ്ഥലത്തു കുടിപാർത്തു.
22 അവൻ സേയീരിൽ പാർക്കുന്ന ഏശാവിന്റെ മക്കൾക്കുവേണ്ടി ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ, അവൻ ഹോർയ്യരെ അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു നശിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടു അവർ അവരുടെ ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കി അവരുടെ സ്ഥലത്തു ഇന്നുവരെയും പാർക്കുന്നു.
23 കഫ്തോരിൽനിന്നു വന്ന കഫ്തോർയ്യരും ഗസ്സാവരെയുള്ള ഊരുകളിൽ പാർത്തിരുന്ന അവ്യരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു അവരുടെ സ്ഥലത്തു കുടിപാർത്തു -
9 And the Lord said unto me, Distress not the Moabites, neither contend with them in battle: for I will not give thee of their land for a possession; because I have given Ar unto the children of Lot for a possession.
10 The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims;
11 Which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims; but the Moabites call them Emims.
12 The Horims also dwelt in Seir beforetime; but the children of Esau succeeded them, when they had destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as Israel did unto the land of his possession, which the Lord gave unto them.
13 Now rise up, said I, and get you over the brook Zered. And we went over the brook Zered.
14 And the space in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the Lord sware unto them.
15 For indeed the hand of the Lord was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.
16 So it came to pass, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people,
17 That the Lord spake unto me, saying,
18 Thou art to pass over through Ar, the coast of Moab, this day:
19 And when thou comest nigh over against the children of Ammon, distress them not, nor meddle with them: for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon any possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession.
20 (That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims;
21 A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the Lord destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead:
22 As he did to the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, when he destroyed the Horims from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead even unto this day:
23 And the Avims which dwelt in Hazerim, even unto Azzah, the Caphtorims, which came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.)

11 ഇവരെ അനാക്യരെപ്പോലെ മല്ലന്മാർ എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചുവരുന്നു; മോവാബ്യരോ അവർക്കു ഏമ്യർ എന്നു പേർ പറയുന്നു.
Which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims; but the Moabites call them Emims.
12 ഹോർയ്യരും പണ്ടു സേയീരിൽ പാർത്തിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഏശാവിന്റെ മക്കൾ അവരെ തങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളകയും സംഹരിക്കയും അവർക്കു പകരം കുടിപാർക്കയും ചെയ്തു; യിസ്രായേലിന്നു യഹോവ കൊടുത്ത അവകാശദേശത്തു അവർ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ. -
The Horims also dwelt in Seir beforetime; but the children of Esau succeeded them, when they had destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as Israel did unto the land of his possession, which the Lord gave unto them.
13 ഇപ്പോൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു സേരെദ് തോടു കടപ്പിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നാം സേരെദ് തോടു കടന്നു;
Now rise up, said I, and get you over the brook Zered. And we went over the brook Zered.
14 നാം കാദേശ് ബർന്നേയയിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടതുമുതൽ സേരെദ് തോടു കടക്കുംവരെയുള്ള കാലം മുപ്പത്തെട്ടു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു; അതിന്നിടയിൽ യോദ്ധാക്കളായിരുന്ന തലമുറ ഒക്കെയും യഹോവ അവരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ പാളയത്തിൽനിന്നു മുടിഞ്ഞുപോയി.

15 അവർ മുടിഞ്ഞുതീരുംവരെ യഹോവയുടെ കൈ അവരെ പാളയത്തിൽനിന്നു നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവർക്കു വിരോധമായിരുന്നു.
For indeed the hand of the Lord was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.
16 ഇങ്ങനെ യോദ്ധാക്കൾ ഒക്കെയും ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു മരിച്ചു ഒടുങ്ങിയശേഷം
So it came to pass, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people,
17 യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു:
That the Lord spake unto me, saying,
18 നീ ഇന്നു ആർ എന്ന മോവാബ്യദേശത്തുകൂടി കടപ്പാൻ പോകുന്നു.
Thou art to pass over through Ar, the coast of Moab, this day:
19 അമ്മോന്യരോടു അടുത്തു ചെല്ലുമ്പോൾ അവരെ ഞെരുക്കരുതു; അവരോടു പടയെടുക്കയും അരുതു; ഞാൻ അമ്മോന്യരുടെ ദേശത്തു നിനക്കു അവകാശം തരികയില്ല; അതു ഞാൻ ലോത്തിന്റെ മക്കൾക്കു അവകാശമായി കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. -

As he did to the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, when he destroyed the Horims from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead even unto this day:
23 കഫ്തോരിൽനിന്നു വന്ന കഫ്തോർയ്യരും ഗസ്സാവരെയുള്ള ഊരുകളിൽ പാർത്തിരുന്ന അവ്യരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു അവരുടെ സ്ഥലത്തു കുടിപാർത്തു -
And the Avims which dwelt in Hazerim, even unto Azzah, the Caphtorims, which came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.)
