രാജാവു തനിക്കു കൈത്താങ്ങൽ കൊടുക്കുന്ന അകമ്പടിനായകനെ വാതിൽക്കൽ വിചാരകനായി നിയമിച്ചിരുന്നു; ജനം അവനെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു; രാജാവു ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ അവൻ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുപോലെ അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി.

രാജാവിന്നു കൈത്താങ്ങൽ കൊടുക്കുന്ന അകമ്പടിനായകൻ ദൈവപുരുഷനോടു: യഹോവ ആകാശത്തിൽ കിളിവാതിലുകൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയാലും ഈ കാര്യം സാധിക്കുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു അവൻ: നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു നീ അതു കാണും; എങ്കിലും നീ അതിൽ നിന്നു തിന്നുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
