അബ്ശാലോം ദാവീദിന്റെ ചേവകർക്കു എതിർപ്പെട്ടു; അബ്ശാലോം കോവർകഴുതപ്പുറത്തു ഓടിച്ചുപോകുമ്പോൾ കോവർകഴുത കൊമ്പു തിങ്ങിനില്ക്കുന്ന ഒരു വലിയ കരുവേലകത്തിൻ കീഴെ എത്തി; അവന്റെ തലമുടി കരുവേലകത്തിൽ പിടിപെട്ടിട്ടു അവൻ ആകാശത്തിന്നും ഭൂമിക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ തൂങ്ങി; അവന്റെ കീഴിൽനിന്നു കോവർകഴുത ഓടിപ്പോയി.
