1 ദാവീദ് മലമുകൾ കടന്നു കുറെ അപ്പുറം ചെന്നപ്പോൾ മെഫീബോശെത്തിന്റെ ഭൃത്യനായ സീബാ കോപ്പിട്ട രണ്ടുകഴുതയുമായി എതിരെ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവയുടെ പുറത്തു ഇരുനൂറു അപ്പവും നൂറു ഉണക്കമുന്തിരിക്കുലയും നൂറു അത്തിയടയും ഒരു തുരുത്തി വീഞ്ഞും കയറ്റിയിരുന്നു.
2 രാജാവു സീബയോടു: ഇതു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു സീബാ: കഴുതകൾ രാജാവിന്റെ കുടുംബക്കാർക്കു കയറുവാനും അപ്പവും പഴവും ബാല്യക്കാർക്കു തിന്മാനും വീഞ്ഞു മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ക്ഷീണിച്ചവർക്കു കുടിപ്പാനും തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
3 നിന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ മകൻ എവിടെ എന്നു രാജാവു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു സീബാ രാജാവിനോടു: അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ പാർക്കുന്നു; യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹം എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ രാജത്വം ഇന്നു എനിക്കു തിരികെ തരുമെന്നു അവൻ പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4 രാജാവു സീബയോടു: ഇതാ, മെഫീബോശെത്തിന്നുള്ളതൊക്കെയും നിനക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു സീബാ: യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, ഞാൻ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നു; തിരുമുമ്പിൽ എനിക്കു ദയ ലഭിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
1 And when David was a little past the top of the hill, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves of bread, and an hundred bunches of raisins, and an hundred of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.
2 And the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, The asses be for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink.
3 And the king said, And where is thy master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.
4 Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine are all that pertained unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I humbly beseech thee that I may find grace in thy sight, my lord, O king.

And the king said, And where is thy master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.

Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine are all that pertained unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I humbly beseech thee that I may find grace in thy sight, my lord, O king.
