അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: രാജത്വം എനിക്കുള്ളതായിരുന്നു; ഞാൻ വാഴേണ്ടതിന്നു യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നു എന്നു നീ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ; എന്നാൽ രാജത്വം മറിഞ്ഞു എന്റെ സഹോദരന്നു ആയിപ്പോയി; യഹോവയാൽ അതു അവന്നു ലഭിച്ചു.

And he said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: howbeit the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother's: for it was his from the LORD.

Israel יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל yiśrāʾēl yees-ra-ALE
their faces פְּנֵיהֶ֖ם pānîm pa-NEEM
me, that I should reign: לִמְלֹ֑ךְ mālak ma-LAHK
is turned about, וַתִּסֹּ֤ב sābab sa-VAHV
howbeit the kingdom הַמְּלוּכָה֙ mĕlûkâ meh-loo-HA
and is become וַתְּהִ֣י hāyâ ha-YA
my brother's: לְאָחִ֔י ʾāḥ ak
for כִּ֥י kî kee
his from the Lord. מֵֽיְהוָ֖ה yĕhōwâ yeh-hoh-VA
it was הָ֥יְתָה hāyâ ha-YA
