ആഹാബ് ഒരു അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; അങ്ങനെ ആഹാബ് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം തനിക്കു മുമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്ന എല്ലായിസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരെക്കാളും അധികം ദോഷം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.
