யோசுவா 19:34
அப்புறம் அந்த எல்லை மேற்கே அஸ்னோத்தாபோருக்குத் திரும்பி, அங்கேயிருந்து உக்கோருக்குச் சென்று தெற்கே செபுலோனையும், மேற்கே ஆசேரையும் சூரியோதயப்புறத்திலே யோர்தானிலே யூதாவையும் சேர்ந்து வரும்.

யோவானை நான் சிரச்சேதம்பண்ணினேன், இவன் இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளைச் செய்கிறான் என்று கேள்விப்படுகிறேனே! இவன் யார்? என்று ஏரோது சொல்லி, அவரைப் பார்க்க விரும்பினான்.

ஏரோது, “யோவானின் தலையை வெட்டினேன். நான் கேள்விப்படும் இக்காரியங்களைச் செய்கின்ற மனிதன் யார்?” என்று சொன்னான். ஏரோதும் இயேசுவைப் பார்க்கத் தொடர்ந்து முயன்று வந்தான்.
