1 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಹೊರಟು ಯೊರ್ದನಿಗೆ ಈಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೋವಾ ಬಿನ ಬೈಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆರಿಕೋ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆದುರಾಗಿ ಇಳುಕೊಂಡರು.

ಆಗ ಮೋಶೆ ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಬೈಲಿನಿಂದ ನೆಬೋ ಪರ್ವತಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿರುವ ಪಿಸ್ಗಾದ ಶಿಖರಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿ ಹೋದನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ದೇಶವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ದಾನಿನ ವರೆಗಿರುವ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದನ್ನೂ

ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಈಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ನೋನ್ ನದಿಯಿಂದ ಹೆರ್ಮೋನ್ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ವರೆಗೆ ಇರುವ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಅಮೋರಿಯರ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಅರ ಸರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡೆವು.

ಮೋಶೆಯು ಯೊರ್ದ ನಿನ ಈಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಆರಂಭ ಮಾಡಿ

ಎರಡೂವರೆ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಈಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆರಿ ಕೋವಿಗೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಉದಯಿಸುವ ಪೂರ್ವ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಅಬಾರೀಮ್ ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಬೈಲು ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಂಡರು.

ನಾವು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯವು ನಮಗೆ ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಈಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಣ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂತು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಬರುವ ನೀರು ನಿಂತು ಬಹು ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಾರೆತಾನಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಆದಾಮ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದು ರಾಶಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಿತು. ಕೆಳಗಣ ನೀರು ಉಪ್ಪು ಸಮುದ್ರವೆಂಬ ಸಮುದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹರಿದು ಹೋಯಿತು.
