ಬೆಳಗಾದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಯಾಜಕರು ಹಿರಿಯರ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳ ಮತ್ತು ಸಭೆಯವ ರೆಲ್ಲರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೇಸು ವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಪಿಲಾತನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ದರು.

ಆಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಕಾಯಫನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು. ಆಗ ಮುಂಜಾನೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ತಾವು ಮೈಲಿಗೆಯಾಗಿ ಪಸ್ಕದ ಊಟ ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಾದೀತೆಂದು ಅವರು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ಒಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
