ಆಗ ಆ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯರೂ ಕಾನಾ ನ್ಯರೂ ಇಳಿದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಹೊರ್ಮಾದ ವರೆಗೆ ಅಟ್ಟಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು.

ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟನು; ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಅವರನ್ನೂ ಅವರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರು ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರ್ಮಾ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟರು.
