Jeremiah 44:30
ಕರ್ತನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನನ್ನು ಅವನ ಶತ್ರು ವಾದಂಥ ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದಂಥ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದೆನೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಫರೋಹ ಹೊಫ್ರನನ್ನು ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಹುಡು ಕುವ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.

ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಪುತ್ರನೇ, ನಾನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಅರಸ ನಾದ ಫರೋಹನ ತೋಳನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ಹಾಕಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಇಗೋ, ಅದು ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ವಾಸಿಯಾಗುವದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಲಬರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಬಿಗಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

ಹತ್ತನೇ ವರುಷದ ಹತ್ತನೇ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ, ಹನ್ನೆರಡನೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--

ನೀನು ಹೀಗೆ ಘನತೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ದೊಡ್ಡಸ್ತಿಕೆ ಯಿಂದಲೂ ಏದೆನಿನ ಯಾವ ಮರಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮ ನಾಗಿರುವೆ? ಆದರೂ ಏದೆನಿನ ಮರಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಕೆಳಗಿನ ಸೀಮೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಇಳಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವಿ; ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹತವಾದವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲ ಗುವಿ. ಇದೇ ಫರೋಹನನೂ ಅವನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನ ಸಮೂಹವೂ ಆಗಿವೆ ಎಂದು ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
