ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡದ ಜನಾಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತನು ಮಾತ ನಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ--ನೀನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರೂ ಯಾಕೆ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದಲೂ ಜಾಡ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಸಾಯುವಿರಿ?

ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕ ದ್ನೇಚ್ಚರನಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡದೆ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನ ನೊಗಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನ ಕುತ್ತಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡದೆ ಇರುವ ಜನಾಂಗವೂ ರಾಜ್ಯವೂ ಯಾವದೋ ಆ ಜನಾಂಗವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದಲೂ ಜಾಡ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಇವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿಬಿಡುವ ವರೆಗೆ ದಂಡಿಸುವೆನೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಆದರೆ ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪಮಾಡುವವನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕೇಡುಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುವವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಮರಣವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿ ವಂತನು ತನ್ನ ನೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅನ್ಯಾಯ ಮಾಡಿ ದುಷ್ಟನು ಮಾಡುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾದವುಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಬದುಕುವನೇ? ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿ ರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನೀತಿಯು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಲ್ಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಅಪರಾಧದಿಂದಲೂ ಪಾಪ ದಿಂದಲೂ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಯುವನು.

ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳು ಎಂದು ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ --ನನ್ನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನನಗೆ ದುಷ್ಟನ ಸಾವಿನಿಂದ ಸಂತೋಷ ಸಿಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ಆ ದುಷ್ಟನು ದುರ್ಮಾ ರ್ಗದಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಜೀವಿಸುವದಾದರೆ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನನಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷಸಿಗುವದು; ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಮನೆತನದವರೇ, ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದುಷ್ಟಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತಿರುಗಿರಿ, ನೀವು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ನೀವು ಸಾಯುವದು ಯಾಕೆ?
