ದಮಸ್ಕವು ಸಿರಿ ಯಾದ ತಲೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ದಮಸ್ಕದ ತಲೆಯು ರೆಚೀನ; ಅರುವತ್ತೈದು ವರುಷಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾ ಮ್ಯರು ಭಂಗಪಟ್ಟು ಜನಾಂಗವೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳರು.

ತರುವಾಯ ಕಾವಲುದಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನು ದಮಸ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಅರಾಮ್ಯದ ಠಾಣ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ದಾವೀದ ನಿಗೆ ದಾಸರಾಗಿ ಕಪ್ಪಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದರು; ದಾವೀದನು ಹೋದ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿ ದನು.

ಆಗ ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನು ದೇಶವೆಲ್ಲಾದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದು, ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಮೂರು ವರುಷಗಳ ವರೆಗೂ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದನು.

ಅವರು ಜೆರುಬ್ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಬಳಿಗೂ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರ ಬಳಿಗೂ ಬಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಾವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೂಡ ಕಟ್ಟುತ್ತೇವೆ; ನಾವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವ ರನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತೇವೆ; ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿದ ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಎಸರ್ಹದೋನನ ದಿವಸಗಳು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಆತನಿಗೆ ನಾವೂ ಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೇವೆ ಅಂದರು.

ಆ ಮಗುವು--ಅಪ್ಪಾ, ಅಮ್ಮಾ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಬಲ್ಲವನಾಗುವದರ ಮುಂಚೆ ಅಶ್ಯೂರದ ಅರಸ ನು ದಮಸ್ಕದ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ಸೂರೆ ಯನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವನು ಅಂದನು.

ಅವಳು ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಸುರಾಗಿ ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು. ಆಗ ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ-- ಅವಳನ್ನು ಲೋರುಹಾಮ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಕರೆ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮನೆತನ ದವರನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸುವದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
