Genesis 37:23
ಯೋಸೇಫನು ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರು ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಅಂಗಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದರು.

ಆದರೆ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ ಮುಪ್ಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಮಗನಾಗಿ ದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಿಂತ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅನೇಕ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಅಂಗಿ ಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು.

ಆಗ ಅವರು--ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರನ ಅಪರಾಧವು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದೆ. ಅವನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣ ಸಂಕಟವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಯೂ ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದೆವು. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಈ ಸಂಕಟವು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದಿತು ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.

ಮತ್ತು ಅವರು ಆತನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ರಕ್ತವರ್ಣದ ನಿಲುವಂಗಿಯನ್ನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ತೊಡಿಸಿದರು.
