ಆಗ ಮೊದಲು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವಳು ಚಿಕ್ಕವಳಿಗೆ--ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯು ಮುದುಕನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಲೋಕದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕ್ರಮದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಪುರುಷನು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

ಅವನು ಹಾಗರಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿದಾಗ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿ ಯಾದಳು. ತಾನು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾದೆನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದಾಗ ಅವಳ ಯಜಮಾನಿಯು ಅವಳ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸ ಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಳು.

ಆಗ ಸಾರಯಳು ಅಬ್ರಾಮನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ಮಕ್ಕ ಳನ್ನು ಹೆರದಂತೆ ಕರ್ತನು ನನಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗು; ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಅವಳಿಂದ ನಾನು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯ ಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡಳು. ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ಸಾರಯಳ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
ಮಾರ್ಕನು 9:6

ಆಕೆಯು ವಿಧವೆಯ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದಿಟ್ಟು ಮುಸುಕು ಹಾಕಿ ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ತಿಮ್ನಾತಿನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಹಿರಂಗ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂತು ಕೊಂಡಳು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಶೇಲಹನು ದೊಡ್ಡವನಾ ಗಿದ್ದರೂ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ ವೆಂದು ನೋಡಿದಳು.

ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದನು ಓನಾನನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣನಿಗೆ ಸಂತತಿಯನ್ನು ಉಂಟು ಮಾಡು ಅಂದನು.

ಆದಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾದ ಹವ್ವಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿದನು. ಆಗ ಆಕೆಯು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾಯಿನನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತು--ನಾನು ಕರ್ತ ನಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದಳು.
