Amos 3:14
ಅದು--ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇತೇಲಿನ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವೆನು; ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಕೊಂಬುಗಳು ಕಡಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಉರುಳುವವು.

ಬೇತಾವೆನಿನ ಕರುಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಭಯಪಡುವರು; ಅದರ ಮಹಿಮೆಯು ಅವರಿಂದ ಕಳೆದುಹೋದ ಕಾರಣ ಅಂದು ಅದರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟ ಜನರೂ ಪೂಜಾರಿಗಳೂ ಗೋಳಾಡುವರು.

ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಗಲಭೆ ಉಂಟಾಗುವದು; ಶಲ್ಮಾನನು ಬೇತ್ ಅರ್ಬೇ ಲನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೋಟೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾಶಮಾಡಲ್ಪಡುವವು; ತಾಯಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಪ್ಪಳಿಸಿ ಪುಡಿಪುಡಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಳು.

ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೊಲದ ದಿಬ್ಬೆಯಾಗಿಯೂ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ಬಳ್ಳಿ ನೆಡುವ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡುವೆನು; ಅದರ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸುರಿದುಬಿಟ್ಟು; ಅದರ ಅಸ್ತಿವಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರ ಗೆಡುವೆನು.
ಆಮೋಸ 9:1
ಕರ್ತನು ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಂತಿರು ವದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕಂಡೆನು. ಆತನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇ ನಂದರೆ--ಹೊಸ್ತಿಲುಗಳು ಕದಲುವಂತೆ ಆಧಾರ ಬೋದಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಲವಾಗಿ ಹೊಡೆದು ಅವು ಎಲ್ಲರ ತಲೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಬಿಡು; ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದವರನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವೆನು; ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುವವನು ಓಡಿಹೋಗಲಾಗು ವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳ ಲಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
ಆಮೋಸ 5:5
ಆದರೆ ಬೇತೇಲನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ, ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ, ಬೇರ್ಷೆಬಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗ ಬೇಡಿರಿ, ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲು ಸೆರೆಗೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವದು. ಬೇತೇಲು ಏನಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಗುವದು.

ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಗುದ್ದಲಿಗಳಿಂದ ಮನಸ್ಸೆ ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮ್ ಸಿಮೆಯೋನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಮೊದಲು ಗೊಂಡು ನಫ್ತ್ತಾಲಿಯ ವರೆಗೂ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೀರಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವವರಾದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಯೆಹೂ ದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ತೋಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಯೆಹೂದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನ್ ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮ್ ಮನಸ್ಸೆ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೀರಿಸುವ ಪರ್ಯಂತರ ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೆಡವಿಹಾಕಿದರು. ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳೆಲ್ಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯಗ ಳಿಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೂ ತಿರಿಗಿಹೋದರು.

ಅವನು ಆ ಪೀಠಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಗಿ--ಪೀಠವೇ, ಪೀಠವೇ, ಇಗೋ, ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂತಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಷೀಯನೆಂದು ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕುಮಾರನು ಹುಟ್ಟುವನು; ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಧೂಪವನ್ನರ್ಪಿಸುವ ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನು ಬಲಿಯಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವನು; ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಎಲುಬುಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಡಲ್ಪಡುವವೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.

ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನೀನು ಹೋರಟು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು; ಇಗೋ, ನನ್ನ ದೂತನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುವನು. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ನಾನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವೆನು.
