ಆಗ ತೂರಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹೀರಾ ಮನು ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ದೂತರನ್ನೂ ದೇವದಾರು ಮರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಡಿಗೆಯವರನ್ನೂ ಶಿಲ್ಪಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಳು ಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ದರು.

ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾಗಲು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿದ್ದಾ ನೆಂದು ತೂರಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹೀರಾಮನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಹೀರಾಮನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ದಾವೀದ ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.

ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಶಿಲ್ಪಕಾರರೂ ಹಿರಾಮನ ಶಿಲ್ಪಕಾ ರರೂ ಗಿಬ್ಲಿಯರೂ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಿದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

ಅರ ಸನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ--ನೋಡು, ನಾನು ದೇವದಾರುಗಳ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವು ತೆರೆಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದೆ ಅಂದನು.

ಹೀರಾಮನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ--ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕೇಳಿ ದ್ದೇನೆ. ದೇವದಾರು ಮರಗಳ ವಿಷಯವೂ ತುರಾಯಿ ಮರಗಳ ವಿಷಯವೂ ನೀನು ಇಚ್ಚೈಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾನು ಮಾಡುವೆನು.

1 1 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಹದಿಮೂರು ವರುಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಅದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮುಗಿಸಿದನು.

ನಾನು ಮಹ ತ್ತಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿದೆನು, ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡೆನು; ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾತೋಟಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟೆನು.

ಅವನು--ನಾನು ವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾದ ಮನೆಯನ್ನೂ ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ಕೊಠಡಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಿಟಕಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊರೆದು ದೇವದಾರಿನ ಹಲಿಗೆ ಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ ಕೆಂಪು ಬಣ್ಣವನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚುವವನಿಗೂ ಅಯ್ಯೋ!
