ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಶತೃಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಕಂದಕವನ್ನು ತೋಡಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಕಡೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಳಗೆ ಇರಿಸುವ ದಿನಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರುವವು.

ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು, ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಿಗೂ ಭಾಷೆಯವರಿಗೂ--ನಿಮಗೆ ಶಾಂತಿಯು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಲಿ.

ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳು ತ್ತಾನೆ--ಇಗೋ, ಉತ್ತರದ ರಾಜಾಧಿರಾಜನೂ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನನ್ನು ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಸಂಗಡಲೂ ಸವಾರರ ಸಂಗಡಲೂ ರಥಗಳ ಸಂಗಡಲೂ ಬಹು ಜನರ ಸಂಗಡಲೂ ತೂರಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ತರುತ್ತೇನೆ.

ಅವನು ಬಲಗೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗಾದ ಶಕುನವು ಇತ್ತು. ಬಡಿಯುವ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ಬಾಯಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ಸಂಹಾರ ಧ್ವನಿಗೈದು ಆರ್ಭಟದಿಂದ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಬಡಿಯುವ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ಮೊಹರ್ಚೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ ಕೋಟೆ ಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ಸೂಚನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯಪುತ್ರನೇ, ನೀನು ಒಂದು ಹಂಚನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದಿಟ್ಟು ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮ್ ನಗರದ ನಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಬರೆ.

ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕ ದ್ನೇಚ್ಚರನಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡದೆ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನ ನೊಗಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನ ಕುತ್ತಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡದೆ ಇರುವ ಜನಾಂಗವೂ ರಾಜ್ಯವೂ ಯಾವದೋ ಆ ಜನಾಂಗವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದಲೂ ಜಾಡ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಇವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿಬಿಡುವ ವರೆಗೆ ದಂಡಿಸುವೆನೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ.
ಯೆಶಾಯ 29:3
ಅದು ನನಗೆ ಅರೀಯೇಲಾಗಿಯೇ ಪರಿಣಮಿಸುವದು. ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ದಂಡಿಳಿಸಿ ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಕೋಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ ದಿಬ್ಬಹಾಕಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕುವೆನು.

ಆದದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಸ್ದೀಯರ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅವನು ಅವರ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಸ್ಥಾನವಾದ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಪ್ರಾಯಸ್ಥರನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು. ಪ್ರಾಯಸ್ಥನ ಮೇಲಾದರೂ ಕನ್ಯಾ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಮೇಲಾ ದರೂ ವೃದ್ಧನ ಮೇಲಾದರೂ ಅತೀ ವೃದ್ಧನ ಮೇಲಾ ದರೂ ಕನಿಕರಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆತನು ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.

ಕರ್ತನು ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನೂ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ವರನ್ನೂ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದಾಗ ಯೆಹೋಚಾದಾಕನು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋದನು.

ಅವನ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚರನು ಬಂದನು. ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀಮನು ಮೂರು ವರುಷ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕನಾಗಿದ್ದು ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದನು.
