ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದ ಅನ್ಯ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾದವುಗಳ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನು ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.

ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಅಸಹ್ಯಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಅವನು ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.

ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೈ ಕೆಲಸಗಳಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಇತರ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಧೂಪವನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನನ್ನ ಕೋಪ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊತ್ತಿ ಉರಿಯುವದು, ಆರಿಹೋಗದು ಎಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯು ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದವು ಪಾಪವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದ ತನ್ನ ಪಾಪದ ಹೊರತು ಅವನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಕೊನೆಯಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಕೊನೆಯ ವರೆಗೂ ತಾನು ಬಹು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಚೆಲ್ಲಿದ ನಿರಾಪರಾಧದ ರಕ್ತದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿದನು.

ಈ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಸಕಲ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳ ಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಾನು ಆದುಕೊಂಡ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನನ್ನ ನಾಮವನ್ನು ಯುಗಯುಗಕ್ಕೂ ಇರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನಿಗೂ ಯಾವದನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನೋ ಆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ ತೋಪಿನ ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟನು.

ಆಹಾಜನು ಆಳಲು ಆರಂಭಿ ಸಿದಾಗ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ವರುಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹದಿನಾರು ವರುಷ ಆಳಿದನು.

ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತ ನಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಅಸಹ್ಯಿಸಿ ಹಗೆಮಾಡುವದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಮಾರ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆ ಯರನ್ನು ಸಹ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಸಮಾರ್ಯವೆಂಬಾಕೆಯು ಸಹ ನೀನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪಾಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಧವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಅಕ್ಕತಂಗಿಯರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾದ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದಿ, ನೀನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಲೆಕ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲ ದಷ್ಟು ದುರಾಚಾರಗಳಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ನೀತಿವಂತರೆಂದು ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದೆ.
