ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಹೊಗಳಲ್ಪ ಡತಕ್ಕ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನನಾದ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ವುಳ್ಳವನು ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನ ಅಂಗಾಲು ಮೊದಲ್ಗೊಂಡು ನಡುನೆತ್ತಿಯ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಕಳಂಕವಾದರೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಇತ್ತು.

ಇವನಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥ ನಾದ ಸೌಲನೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸುಂದರನಾದ ಮಗನಿದ್ದನು. ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗಿಂತ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವುಳ್ಳವನು ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಜನರ ಗುಂಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಹೆಗಲೂ ತಲೆಯೂ ಕಾಣುವಷ್ಟು ಎತ್ತರವಾದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
