ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ--ಈ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ನಿಂದೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಡುವ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಡುವದು? ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಈ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನು ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳ ದೇವರ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹೀಯಾ ಳಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಷ್ಟರವನು ಅಂದನು.

ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನು ಆ ಸಿಂಹವನ್ನೂ ಆ ಕರಡಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂದು ಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಈ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನು ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳ ದೇವರ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದರ ಹಾಗೆ ಆಗುವನು ಅಂದನು.

ನಾವು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದೆವೆಂಬದನ್ನೂ ನೀವು ಹೇಗೆ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟು ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳ ಸತ್ಯದೇವರನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವವರಾದಿರೆಂಬದನ್ನೂ ಅವರು ತಾವೇ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
