Proverbs 23 - ASV (Kannada)

1 When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, Consider diligently him that is before thee;ಆಳುವವನ ಸಂಗಡ ನೀನು ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂತಿರುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಎದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವದು ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ಆಲೋಚಿಸು;

2 And put a knife to thy throat, If thou be a man given to appetite.ನೀನು ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಬಾಕನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕುತ್ತಿಗೆಗೆ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೋ.

3 Be not desirous of his dainties; Seeing they are deceitful food.ಅವನ ರುಚಿ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿ ಸಬೇಡ; ಅದು ಮೋಸದ ಆಹಾರವು.

4 Weary not thyself to be rich; Cease from thine own wisdom.ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯ ವಂತನಾಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಸಪಡಬೇಡ; ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡು.

5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? For `riches' certainly make themselves wings, Like an eagle that flieth toward heaven.ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವದರ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಇಡುವಿಯಾ? ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವು ನಿಸ್ಸಂದೇಹವಾಗಿ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಹದ್ದಿನಂತೆ ಆಕಾಶದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹಾರಿಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ.

6 Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, Neither desire thou his dainties:ಕೆಟ್ಟದೃಷ್ಟಿ ಯುಳ್ಳವನ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬೇಡ; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವನ ರುಚಿ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಆಶಿಸಬೇಡ;

7 For as he thinketh within himself, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; But his heart is not with thee.ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಚಿಸುವಂತೆಯೇ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ; ಅವನು --ತಿನ್ನು, ಕುಡಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಅವನ ಹೃದಯವು ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗಿಲ್ಲ.

8 The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, And lose thy sweet words.ನೀನು ತಿಂದ ತುತ್ತನ್ನು ಕಕ್ಕಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಿನ್ನ ಸವಿಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿ.

9 Speak not in the hearing of a fool; For he will despise the wisdom of thy words.ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಹೀನನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತಾಡಬೇಡ; ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಅವನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವನು.

10 Remove not the ancient landmark; And enter not into the fields of the fatherless:ಪೂರ್ವಕಾ ಲದ ಮೇರೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯಬೇಡ; ಅನಾಥರ ಹೊಲ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸದಿರು;

11 For their Redeemer is strong; He will plead their cause against thee.ಅವರ ವಿಮೋಚಕನು ಬಲಶಾಲಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಅವರ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆತನು ವಾದಿಸುವನು.

12 Apply thy heart unto instruction, And thine ears to the words of knowledge.ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನೂ ವಿವೇ ಕದ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಿವಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡು.

13 Withhold not correction from the child; `For' if thou beat him with the rod, he will not die.ಹುಡು ಗನ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಹಿಂತೆಗೆಯಬೇಡ; ಅವನನ್ನು ಬೆತ್ತದಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದರೆ ಅವನು ಸಾಯುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, And shalt deliver his soul from Sheol.ಅವನನ್ನು ಬೆತ್ತದಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು ಪಾತಾಳದಿಂದ ಅವನ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವಿ;

15 My son, if thy heart be wise, My heart will be glad, even mine:ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ಜ್ಞಾನ ವುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ಹೌದು, ನನ್ನದೇ ಹರ್ಷಿಸುವದು.

16 Yea, my heart will rejoice, When thy lips speak right things.ಹೌದು, ನಿನ್ನ ತುಟಿಗಳು ಯಥಾ ರ್ಥವಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತಾಡಿದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಅಂತರಾತ್ಮವು ಸಂತೋಷಿಸುವದು.

17 Let not thy heart envy sinners; But `be thou' in the fear of Jehovah all the day long:ಪಾಪಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ಅಸೂಯೆಪಡದಿರಲಿ; ನೀನು ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕರ್ತನ ಭಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರು.

18 For surely there is a reward; And thy hope shall not be cut off.ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅಂತ್ಯವು ಬರು ತ್ತದೆ; ನಿನ್ನ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯು ನಿರರ್ಥಕವಾಗದು.

19 Hear thou, my son, and be wise, And guide thy heart in the way.ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ಕೇಳಿ ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತನಾಗು; ನ್ಯಾಯಮಾರ್ಗ ದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ನಡಿಸು.

20 Be not among winebibbers, Among gluttonous eaters of flesh:ಮದ್ಯಪಾನ ಮಾಡುವವರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅತಿಮಾಂಸ ಭಕ್ಷಕರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇರಬೇಡ.

21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty; And drowsiness will clothe `a man' with rags.ಕುಡುಕರೂ ಹೊಟ್ಟೇಬಾಕರೂ ದುರ್ಗ ತಿಗೆ ಬರುವರು; ತೂಕಡಿಕೆಯು ಒಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಹಳೇ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊದಿಸುವದು.

22 Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, And despise not thy mother when she is old.ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಪಡೆದ ತಂದೆಯ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡು; ನಿನ್ನ ತಾಯಿ ಮುಪ್ಪಿನವಳಾದಾಗ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅಸಡ್ಡೆಮಾಡಬೇಡ.

23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; `Yea', wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಜ್ಞಾನ ವನ್ನೂ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನೂ ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗ ಳನ್ನು ಮಾರಬೇಡ.

24 The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; And he that begetteth a wise child will have joy of him.ನೀತಿವಂತನ ತಂದೆಯು ಬಹಳ ವಾಗಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುವನು; ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾದ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಪಡೆದವನಿಗೆ ಅವನಿಂದ ಆನಂದವಾಗುವದು.

25 Let thy father and thy mother be glad, And let her that bare thee rejoice.ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಿಗಳು ಸಂತೋಷಿಸುವರು; ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತ ವರು ಆನಂದಿಸುವರು.

26 My son, give me thy heart; And let thine eyes delight in my ways.ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯ ವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಕೊಡು; ನನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಟ್ಟು ನೋಡಲಿ.

27 For a harlot is a deep ditch; And a foreign woman is a narrow pit.ಸೂಳೆಯು ಆಳವಾದ ಕುಣಿ; ಪರಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಾದ ಗುಂಡಿ.

28 Yea, she lieth in wait as a robber, And increaseth the treacherous among men.ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಾಗಿಯೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಅವಳು ಹೊಂಚು ಹಾಕಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ದೋಷಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ.

29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? Who hath complaining? who hath wounds without cause? Who hath redness of eyes?ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಅಯ್ಯೋ? ಯಾರಿಗೆ ದುಃಖ? ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಕಲಹಗಳು? ಯಾರು ಗೋಳಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ? ಯಾರು ಸುಮ್ಮಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಗಾಯ ಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ? ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಕೆಂಪೇ ರಿದ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು?

30 They that tarry long at the wine; They that go to seek out mixed wine.ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಾದಿರುವಂಥ ವರು ಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವವರಾಗಿ ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ.

31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, When it sparkleth in the cup, When it goeth down smoothly:ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವು ಕೆಂಪಾಗಿದ್ದು ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಥಳಥಳಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಚಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ನೋಡಬೇಡ.

32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, And stingeth like an adder.ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಅದು ಹಾವಿನಂತೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಷಸರ್ಪದಂತೆ ಕಚ್ಚುತ್ತದೆ.

33 Thine eyes shall behold strange things, And thy heart shall utter perverse things.ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಪರಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ವಕ್ರವಾದ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಉಚ್ಚರಿ ಸುವದು.

34 Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, Or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.ಹೌದು, ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗಿ ರುವವನಂತೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಹಡಗಿನ ಕಂಬದ ತುದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದವನಂತೆ ನೀನು ಇರುವಿ.

35 They have stricken me, `shalt thou say', and I was not hurt; They have beaten me, and I felt it not: When shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.ನೀನು--ಜನರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದರೂ ನಾನು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದರೂ ನನಗೆ ನೋವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಯಾವಾಗ ಎಚ್ಚತ್ತೇನು? ಪುನಃ ನಾನು ಅದನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಹುಡುಕೇನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀ.
