ಆಗ ಮೋಶೆ ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಬೈಲಿನಿಂದ ನೆಬೋ ಪರ್ವತಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿರುವ ಪಿಸ್ಗಾದ ಶಿಖರಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿ ಹೋದನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ದೇಶವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ದಾನಿನ ವರೆಗಿರುವ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದನ್ನೂ

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮೇರೆಯು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಾಲದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗಿ ಲೆಷೆಮಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಲೆಷೆಮಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ದಾನನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ದಾನ್ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟರು.

ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ--ನೀನು ಈ ಅಬಾ ರೀಮ್ ಪರ್ವತದ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿ ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನೋಡು.

ದೇವರ ದರ್ಶನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದು ಅತಿ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಪರ್ವತಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಇರಿಸಿದನು, ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ದಕ್ಷಿಣದ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಕಟ್ಟಿರುವಂತಿತ್ತು.

ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ತಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ದಾನನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದಾನನು ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟರು.

ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತತಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೂ ಇಸಾಕನಿಗೂ ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೂ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದ ದೇಶವು ಇದೇ. ಅದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದೆನು; ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ದಾಟಿ ಸೇರುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ನೀನು ಆ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣಾರೆ ನೋಡುವಿ; ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಬಾಮೋತಿನಿಂದ ಮೋವಾಬ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ರುವ ಕಣಿವೆಯಿಂದ ಪಿಸ್ಗಾವೆಂಬ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ತುದಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು; ಇದು ಯೇಷೀಮೋನಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
