1 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ತಮ್ಮ ದೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಮದಲಿಂಗ ನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದ ಹತ್ತುಮಂದಿ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರುವದು.

2 ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಐದುಮಂದಿ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತೆಯರೂ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರೂ ಇದ್ದರು.

3 ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ,

4 ಬುದ್ದಿವಂತೆಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೀಪಗಳೊ ಂದಿಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡರು.

5 ಮದಲಿಂಗನು ತಡಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತೂಕಡಿಸಿ ನಿದ್ರಿಸಿದರು.

6 ಮಧ್ಯರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ--ಇಗೋ, ಮದಲಿಂಗನು ಬರುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೊರಡಿರಿ ಎಂಬ ಕೂಗಾ ಯಿತು.

7 ಆಗ ಆ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಎದ್ದು ತಮ್ಮ ದೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು;

8 ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರು ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತೆಯರಿಗೆ-- ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಡಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದೀಪಗಳು ಆರಿಹೋಗಿವೆ ಅಂದರು.

9 ಆದರೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತೆಯರು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ವಾಗಿ--ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ನಮಗೂ ನಿಮಗೂ ಸಾಲದೆ ಹೋದೀತು; ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಮಾರು ವವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕೊಂಡು ಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ ಅಂದರು.

10 ಅವರು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ಮದಲಿಂಗನು ಬಂದನು. ಆಗ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ದ್ದವರು ಮದುವೆಗೆ ಆತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊದರು; ತರುವಾಯ ಬಾಗಲು ಮುಚ್ಚಲಾಯಿತು.

11 ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಬೇರೆ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರು ಸಹ ಬಂದು--ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಮಗೆ ಬಾಗಲನ್ನು ತೆರೆ ಅಂದರು.

12 ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅರಿ ಯೆನು ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.

13 ಆದದರಿಂದ ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಿರ್ರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಬರುವ ದಿನ ವನ್ನಾಗಲೀ ಗಳಿಗೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲೀ ನೀವು ಅರಿಯದವರಾ ಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ ಅಂದನು.

14 ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಪರಲೋಕರಾಜ್ಯವು ದೂರ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಇದೆ.

15 ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಎರಡು, ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು, ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನವನ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

16 ತರುವಾಯ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ ವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಮಾಡಿ ಬೇರೆ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿದನು.

17 ಅದೇ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಎರಡು ಹೊಂದಿದವನು ಸಹ ಬೇರೆ ಎರಡನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿದನು.

18 ಆದರೆ ಒಂದು ತಲಾಂತು ಹೊಂದಿದವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಅಗೆದು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟನು.

19 ಬಹುಕಾಲವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಸೇವಕರ ಯಜ ಮಾನನು ಬಂದು ಅವರಿಂದ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡನು.

20 ಆಗ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದವನು ಬಂದು ಬೇರೆ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದು--ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದಿ; ಇಗೋ, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲದೆ ಬೇರೆ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.

21 ಆಗ ಅವನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಸೇವಕನೇ, ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀ. ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾದವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತ ನಾದದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಹಳವಾದವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸುವೆನು; ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸಂತೋಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸು ಅಂದನು.

22 ಎರಡು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದವನು ಸಹ ಬಂದು--ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಎರಡು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದಿ; ಇಗೋ, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲದೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಎರಡು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿ ದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.

23 ಆಗ ಅವನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಸೇವಕನೇ, ಒಳ್ಳೇ ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀ; ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾದವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ನಂಬಿಗ ಸ್ತನಾದದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಹಳವಾದವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸುವೆನು; ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸಂತೋಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸು ಅಂದನು.

24 ಆಗ ಒಂದು ತಲಾಂತು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದ ವನು ಬಂದು--ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನೀನು ಬಿತ್ತದಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವನೂ ತೂರದಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸುವವನೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಕಠಿಣ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು;

25 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ತಲಾಂತನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟೆನು. ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನದು ನಿನಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಅಂದನು.

26 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನ ಯಜ ಮಾನನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ಮೈಗಳ್ಳನಾದ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸೇವಕನೇ, ನಾನು ಬಿತ್ತದಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವನೆ ಂತಲೂ ತೂರದಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸುವವನೆಂತಲೂ ನೀನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೀಯಲ್ಲಾ.

27 ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಬಡ್ಡಿಗಾಗಿ ಕೊಡತಕ್ಕದ್ದಾಗಿತ್ತು; ನಾನು ಬಂದಾಗ ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತದ್ದನ್ನು ಬಡ್ಡಿ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು.

28 ಆ ತಲಾಂತನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹತ್ತು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳುಳ್ಳವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಿರಿ.

29 ಇದ್ದ ಪ್ರತಿ ಯೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಡುವದು ಮತ್ತು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ ಯಾಗುವದು; ಇಲ್ಲದವನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಇದ್ದದ್ದೂ ತೆಗೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವದು.

30 ಮತ್ತು ನಿಷ್ಪ್ರಯೋ ಜಕನಾದ ಈ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನು ನೀವು ಹೊರಗೆ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿರಿ; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋಳಾಟವೂ ಹಲ್ಲು ಕಡಿಯೋಣವೂ ಇರುವವು ಅಂದನು.

31 ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ತನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೂತರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬರುವಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು;

32 ಮತ್ತು ಆತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳವರು ಕೂಡಿಸಲ್ಪ ಡುವರು; ಆಗ ಕುರುಬನು ತನ್ನ ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆಡುಗ ಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸುವಂತೆಯೇ ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇ ಕಿಸುವನು;

33 ಆತನು ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಬಲಗಡೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆಡುಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಎಡಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸುವನು.

34 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರುವವರಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಿಂದ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಹೊಂದಿದವರೇ, ನೀವು ಬನ್ನಿರಿ; ಭೂಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಅಸ್ತಿ ವಾರ ಹಾಕಿದಂದಿನಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದಿರಿ;

35 ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಹಸಿದಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಊಟವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರಿ; ನಾನು ಬಾಯಾರಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಕುಡಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರಿ; ನಾನು ಪರದೇಶಿಯಾಗಿ ದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಳಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರಿ;

36 ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಉಡಿಸಿ ದಿರಿ; ನಾನು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು; ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸಿ ದಿರಿ; ನಾನು ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವನು.

37 ಆಗ ಆ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಯಾವಾಗ ನೀನು ಹಸಿದದ್ದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ನಾವು ನಿನಗೆ ಉಣಿಸಿ ದೆವು? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಬಾಯಾರಿದ್ದಾಗ ನಿನಗೆ ಕುಡಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟೆವು? ಯಾವಾಗ

38 ನೀನು ಪರದೇಶಿಯಾ ಗಿರುವದನ್ನು ನಾವು ನೋಡಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಳಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡೆವು? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವಾಗ ನಿನಗೆ ಉಡಿಸಿದೆವು?

39 ಯಾವಾಗ ನೀನು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದೆವು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವರು.

40 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ--ನೀವು ಈ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಲ್ಪನಾದವನೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ನನಗೂ ಮಾಡಿದಂತಾಯಿತು ಅಂದನು.

41 ಆತನು ಎಡಗಡೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿರುವವರಿಗೆ--ಶಾಪಗ್ರಸ್ತರೇ, ನೀವು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿ ಸೈತಾನನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ದೂತರಿಗೂ ಸಿದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ನಿತ್ಯ ಬೆಂಕಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ.

42 ನಾನು ಹಸಿದವನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ನಾನು ಬಾಯಾರಿದವನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಕುಡಿ ಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.

43 ನಾನು ಪರದೇಶಿಯಾಗಿ ದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಳಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಉಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು, ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವನು.

44 ಆಗ ಅವರು ಸಹ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನೀನು ಯಾವಾಗ ಹಸಿದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಬಾಯರಿದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಪರದೇಶಿ ಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವನಾಗಿದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥ ನಾಗಿದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ನಾವು ನೋಡಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಉಪಚಾರ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವರು.

45 ಆಗ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ, ನೀವು ಇವ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಲ್ಪನಾದವನೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡದೆ ಹೋದ ದರಿಂದ ನನಗೂ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವನು.

46 ಇವರು ನಿತ್ಯವಾದ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುವರು; ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವರು.

1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.

17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.

18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.

19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

1 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ತಮ್ಮ ದೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಮದಲಿಂಗ ನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದ ಹತ್ತುಮಂದಿ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರುವದು.

2 ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಐದುಮಂದಿ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತೆಯರೂ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರೂ ಇದ್ದರು.

3 ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ,

4 ಬುದ್ದಿವಂತೆಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೀಪಗಳೊ ಂದಿಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡರು.

5 ಮದಲಿಂಗನು ತಡಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತೂಕಡಿಸಿ ನಿದ್ರಿಸಿದರು.

6 ಮಧ್ಯರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ--ಇಗೋ, ಮದಲಿಂಗನು ಬರುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೊರಡಿರಿ ಎಂಬ ಕೂಗಾ ಯಿತು.

7 ಆಗ ಆ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಎದ್ದು ತಮ್ಮ ದೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು;

8 ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರು ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತೆಯರಿಗೆ-- ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಡಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದೀಪಗಳು ಆರಿಹೋಗಿವೆ ಅಂದರು.

9 ಆದರೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತೆಯರು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ವಾಗಿ--ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ನಮಗೂ ನಿಮಗೂ ಸಾಲದೆ ಹೋದೀತು; ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಮಾರು ವವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕೊಂಡು ಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ ಅಂದರು.

10 ಅವರು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ಮದಲಿಂಗನು ಬಂದನು. ಆಗ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ದ್ದವರು ಮದುವೆಗೆ ಆತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊದರು; ತರುವಾಯ ಬಾಗಲು ಮುಚ್ಚಲಾಯಿತು.

11 ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಬೇರೆ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರು ಸಹ ಬಂದು--ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಮಗೆ ಬಾಗಲನ್ನು ತೆರೆ ಅಂದರು.

12 ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅರಿ ಯೆನು ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.

13 ಆದದರಿಂದ ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಿರ್ರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಬರುವ ದಿನ ವನ್ನಾಗಲೀ ಗಳಿಗೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲೀ ನೀವು ಅರಿಯದವರಾ ಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ ಅಂದನು.

14 ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಪರಲೋಕರಾಜ್ಯವು ದೂರ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಇದೆ.

15 ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಎರಡು, ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು, ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನವನ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

16 ತರುವಾಯ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ ವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಮಾಡಿ ಬೇರೆ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿದನು.

17 ಅದೇ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಎರಡು ಹೊಂದಿದವನು ಸಹ ಬೇರೆ ಎರಡನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿದನು.

18 ಆದರೆ ಒಂದು ತಲಾಂತು ಹೊಂದಿದವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಅಗೆದು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟನು.

19 ಬಹುಕಾಲವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಸೇವಕರ ಯಜ ಮಾನನು ಬಂದು ಅವರಿಂದ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡನು.

20 ಆಗ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದವನು ಬಂದು ಬೇರೆ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದು--ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದಿ; ಇಗೋ, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲದೆ ಬೇರೆ ಐದು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.

21 ಆಗ ಅವನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಸೇವಕನೇ, ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀ. ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾದವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತ ನಾದದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಹಳವಾದವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸುವೆನು; ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸಂತೋಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸು ಅಂದನು.

22 ಎರಡು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದವನು ಸಹ ಬಂದು--ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಎರಡು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದಿ; ಇಗೋ, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲದೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಎರಡು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿ ದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.

23 ಆಗ ಅವನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಸೇವಕನೇ, ಒಳ್ಳೇ ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀ; ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾದವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ನಂಬಿಗ ಸ್ತನಾದದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಹಳವಾದವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸುವೆನು; ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸಂತೋಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸು ಅಂದನು.

24 ಆಗ ಒಂದು ತಲಾಂತು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದ ವನು ಬಂದು--ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನೀನು ಬಿತ್ತದಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವನೂ ತೂರದಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸುವವನೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಕಠಿಣ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು;

25 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ತಲಾಂತನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟೆನು. ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನದು ನಿನಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಅಂದನು.

26 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನ ಯಜ ಮಾನನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ಮೈಗಳ್ಳನಾದ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸೇವಕನೇ, ನಾನು ಬಿತ್ತದಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವನೆ ಂತಲೂ ತೂರದಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸುವವನೆಂತಲೂ ನೀನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೀಯಲ್ಲಾ.

27 ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಬಡ್ಡಿಗಾಗಿ ಕೊಡತಕ್ಕದ್ದಾಗಿತ್ತು; ನಾನು ಬಂದಾಗ ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತದ್ದನ್ನು ಬಡ್ಡಿ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು.

28 ಆ ತಲಾಂತನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹತ್ತು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳುಳ್ಳವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಿರಿ.

29 ಇದ್ದ ಪ್ರತಿ ಯೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಡುವದು ಮತ್ತು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ ಯಾಗುವದು; ಇಲ್ಲದವನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಇದ್ದದ್ದೂ ತೆಗೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವದು.

30 ಮತ್ತು ನಿಷ್ಪ್ರಯೋ ಜಕನಾದ ಈ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನು ನೀವು ಹೊರಗೆ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿರಿ; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋಳಾಟವೂ ಹಲ್ಲು ಕಡಿಯೋಣವೂ ಇರುವವು ಅಂದನು.

31 ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ತನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೂತರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬರುವಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು;

32 ಮತ್ತು ಆತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳವರು ಕೂಡಿಸಲ್ಪ ಡುವರು; ಆಗ ಕುರುಬನು ತನ್ನ ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆಡುಗ ಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸುವಂತೆಯೇ ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇ ಕಿಸುವನು;

33 ಆತನು ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಬಲಗಡೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆಡುಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಎಡಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸುವನು.

34 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರುವವರಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಿಂದ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಹೊಂದಿದವರೇ, ನೀವು ಬನ್ನಿರಿ; ಭೂಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಅಸ್ತಿ ವಾರ ಹಾಕಿದಂದಿನಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದಿರಿ;

35 ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಹಸಿದಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಊಟವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರಿ; ನಾನು ಬಾಯಾರಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಕುಡಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರಿ; ನಾನು ಪರದೇಶಿಯಾಗಿ ದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಳಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರಿ;

36 ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಉಡಿಸಿ ದಿರಿ; ನಾನು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು; ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸಿ ದಿರಿ; ನಾನು ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವನು.

37 ಆಗ ಆ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಯಾವಾಗ ನೀನು ಹಸಿದದ್ದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ನಾವು ನಿನಗೆ ಉಣಿಸಿ ದೆವು? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಬಾಯಾರಿದ್ದಾಗ ನಿನಗೆ ಕುಡಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟೆವು? ಯಾವಾಗ

38 ನೀನು ಪರದೇಶಿಯಾ ಗಿರುವದನ್ನು ನಾವು ನೋಡಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಳಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡೆವು? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವಾಗ ನಿನಗೆ ಉಡಿಸಿದೆವು?

39 ಯಾವಾಗ ನೀನು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದೆವು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವರು.

40 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ--ನೀವು ಈ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಲ್ಪನಾದವನೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ನನಗೂ ಮಾಡಿದಂತಾಯಿತು ಅಂದನು.

41 ಆತನು ಎಡಗಡೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿರುವವರಿಗೆ--ಶಾಪಗ್ರಸ್ತರೇ, ನೀವು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿ ಸೈತಾನನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ದೂತರಿಗೂ ಸಿದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ನಿತ್ಯ ಬೆಂಕಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ.

42 ನಾನು ಹಸಿದವನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ನಾನು ಬಾಯಾರಿದವನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಕುಡಿ ಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.

43 ನಾನು ಪರದೇಶಿಯಾಗಿ ದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಳಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಉಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು, ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೆನು, ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವನು.

44 ಆಗ ಅವರು ಸಹ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನೀನು ಯಾವಾಗ ಹಸಿದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಬಾಯರಿದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಪರದೇಶಿ ಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವನಾಗಿದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥ ನಾಗಿದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ನಾವು ನೋಡಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಉಪಚಾರ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವರು.

45 ಆಗ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ, ನೀವು ಇವ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಲ್ಪನಾದವನೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡದೆ ಹೋದ ದರಿಂದ ನನಗೂ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವನು.

46 ಇವರು ನಿತ್ಯವಾದ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುವರು; ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವರು.

1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.

17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.

18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.

19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
