ಕರ್ತನ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ನೀವು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿರಿ; ಆತನ ಹಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆಮಾಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಗುವ ಒಬ್ಬನ ಶಬ್ದವದೆ ಎಂಬದು.

ನೀನು ಯಾರು ಎಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವದ ಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನೂ ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾಗ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಇದೇ.
