Romans 8:5
ಶರೀರವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವವರು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಪಟ್ಟವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆತ್ಮನನ್ನನುಸರಿ ಸುವವರಾದರೋ ಆತ್ಮನಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನೀವು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ವುಗಳನ್ನೇ ಹುಡುಕಿರಿ; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ದೇವರ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

ಆದರೆ ಆತನು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೋಡಿ ಪೇತ್ರನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿ--ಸೈತಾನನೇ ನನ್ನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಗು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಯೋಚಿಸುವಂಥದ್ದು ದೇವರವುಗಳಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರವುಗಳೇ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
ರೋಮಾಪುರದವರಿಗೆ 8:9
ನೀವಾ ದರೋ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಾತ್ಮನು ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವದಾದರೆ ಶರೀರಾಧೀನರಲ್ಲ, ಆತ್ಮನಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಯಾವ ನಿಗಾದರೂ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಆತ್ಮನು ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನವ ನಲ್ಲ.
ಎಫೆಸದವರಿಗೆ 5:9
ಆತ್ಮನ ಫಲವು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಉಪಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸತ್ಯ ದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.

ಆದರೆ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಬಂಡು ತನದ ದುರಾಶೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶರೀರಾನುಸಾರ ನಡೆದು ಪ್ರಭುತ್ವವನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡುವವರನ್ನು ಹೀಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವನು. ಇವರು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಹೆದರದೆ ಸ್ವೇಚ್ಛಾಪರರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ದುರಹಂಕಾರದಿಂದ ಗೌರವವುಳ್ಳವರನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ರೋಮಾಪುರದವರಿಗೆ 8:6
ಶರೀರಕ್ಕನುಸಾರವಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮರಣ: ಆತ್ಮೀಕವಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸುಜೀವವೂ ಸಮಾಧಾನವೂ ಆಗಿದೆ.

ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ಶರೀರಕ್ಕನುಸಾರ ವಾಗಿ ಜೀವಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾವು ಶರೀರಕ್ಕೆ ಋಣಸ್ಥರಲ್ಲ.

ನಾವು ಶರೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರಾದರೂ ಶರೀರ ಪ್ರಕಾರವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡುವವರಲ್ಲ.
