Revelation 9:2
ಅವನು ಆ ತಳವಿಲ್ಲದ ತಗ್ಗನ್ನು ತೆರೆದಾಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕುಲುಮೆಯ ಹೊಗೆಯಂತೆ ಆ ತಗ್ಗಿನೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊಗೆಯು ಏರಿತು; ಆ ತಗ್ಗಿನ ಹೊಗೆಯ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ಸೂರ್ಯನು ವಾಯು ಮಂಡಲವು ಕತ್ತಲಾದವು.

ಸೊದೋಮ್ ಗೊಮೋರಗಳ ಕಡೆಗೂ ಮೈದಾನದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಗಳ ಕಡೆಗೂ ನೋಡಿದನು. ಆಗ ಇಗೋ, ಆ ದೇಶದ ಹೊಗೆಯು ಆವಿಗೆಯ ಹೊಗೆಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಏರಿತು.

ಅವರ ಯಾತನೆಯ ಹೊಗೆಯು ಯುಗ ಯುಗಾಂತರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಏರುತ್ತಿರುವದು. ಆ ಮೃಗಕ್ಕೂ ಅದರ ವಿಗ್ರಹಕ್ಕೂ ಆರಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡುವವರೂ ಅದರ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಗುರುತನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವವರೂ ಹಗಲಿ ರುಳು ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇರುವರು ಎಂದು ಮಹಾ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಓ ದ್ವಾರವೇ, ಗೋಳಾಡು; ಓ ಪಟ್ಟಣವೇ, ಕೂಗು; ನಿನ್ನ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿ ಯರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕುಂದಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಅವರ ಹೊಗೆಯು ಉತ್ತರದಿಂದ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆತನ ನೇಮಕವಾದ ಕಾಲ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವನೂ ಒಂಟಿಯಾಗಿರುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

ಆಕಾಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ಭುತಗಳನ್ನೂ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನೂ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನೂ ಹೊಗೆಯ ಸ್ತಂಭಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೋರಿಸುವೆನು.

ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ--ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತಲೆ ಕವಿದು ಗಾಡಾಂಧಕಾರವಾಗುವಂತೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಆಕಾಶದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಚಾಚು ಅಂದನು.

ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಮುಳುಗಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕತ್ತಲಾದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಹೊಗೆಹಾಯುವ ಒಲೆಯೂ ಉರಿಯುವ ದೀಪವೂ ತುಂಡುಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾದುಹೋದವು.
