ಪ್ರಕಟನೆ 18:1-23

1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

1 ಇವುಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಹಾ ಅಧಿಕಾರವುಳ್ಳ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ದೂತನು ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಇಳಿಯುವದನ್ನು ಕಂಡೆನು; ಅವನ ಪ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶವುಂಟಾಯಿತು.
And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

2 ಅವನು ಗಟ್ಟಿ ಯಾದ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ--ಮಹಾಬಾಬೆಲ್‌ ಬಿದ್ದಳು, ಬಿದ್ದಳು; ದೆವ್ವಗಳ ವಾಸಸ್ಥಾನವೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧಾತ್ಮಗಳ ಆಶ್ರಯವೂ ಅಪವಿತ್ರವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವ ಸಕಲ ವಿಧವಾದ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ಪಂಜರವೂ ಆದಳು.

3 ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಅವಳ ಜಾರತ್ವವೆಂಬ ಕೋಪದ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿದು ಮತ್ತರಾದರು; ಅವಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಭೂರಾಜರು ಜಾರತ್ವ ಮಾಡಿದರು; ಅವಳ ಅತಿಶಯವಾದ ವೈಭವದಿಂದ ಭೂಲೋಕದ ವರ್ತಕರು ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತರಾದರು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4 ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕೇಳಿದೆನು; ಅದು--ನನ್ನ ಜನರೇ, ಅವಳಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ; ನೀವು ಅವಳ ಪಾಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗ ಬಾರದು; ಅವಳಿಗಾಗುವ ಉಪದ್ರವಗಳಿಗೆ ಗುರಿ ಯಾಗಬಾರದು.
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

5 ಅವಳ ಪಾಪಗಳು ಆಕಾಶದ ವರೆಗೂ ಮುಟ್ಟಿವೆ. ದೇವರು ಅವಳ ದ್ರೋಹಗಳನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

6 ನಿಮಗೆ ಅವಳು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನೀವು ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತೀಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿರಿ; ಅವಳ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ಕೊಡಿರಿ. ಅವಳು ತುಂಬಿಸಿದ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ತುಂಬಿಸಿರಿ.
Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

7 ಅವಳು ಎಷ್ಟರಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಘನಪಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ವೈಭವದಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವಿಸಿದ್ದಳೋ ಅಷ್ಟರಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಯಾತನೆಯನ್ನೂ ದುಃಖವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ--ನಾನು ರಾಣಿ ಯಾಗಿ ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ನಾನು ವಿಧವೆಯಲ್ಲ, ದುಃಖವನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳು
How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

8 ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಮರಣ ದುಃಖ ಕ್ಷಾಮ ಎಂಬೀ ಉಪದ್ರವಗಳು ಒಂದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಭವಿ ಸುವವು; ಅವಳು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋಗುವಳು. ಅವಳಿಗೆ ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಿದ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನು ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

9 ಅವಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಜಾರತ್ವ ಮಾಡಿ ವೈಭವದಲ್ಲಿ ಬದುಕಿದ ಭೂರಾಜರು ಅವಳ ದಹನದ ಹೊಗೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡು ವಾಗ ಅವಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಗೋಳಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಪ್ರಲಾಪಿಸುವರು.
And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

10 ಅವರು ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಅವಳಿಗುಂಟಾದ ಯಾತ ನೆಯ ಭಯದಿಂದ--ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ಆ ಮಹಾಪಟ್ಟಣವಾದ ಬಾಬೆಲೇ, ಬಲಿಷ್ಠವಾದ ನಗ ರಿಯೇ, ಒಂದೇ ಗಳಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ತೀರ್ಪಾಯಿತಲ್ಲಾ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವರು.
Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

11 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಭೂಲೋಕದ ವರ್ತಕರು ಅವಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಅತ್ತು ಗೋಳಾಡುವರು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವರ ಸರಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ
And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

12 ಚಿನ್ನ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ, ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳು, ಮುತ್ತುಗಳು, ನಯವಾದ ನಾರುಮಡಿ, ಧೂಮ್ರವರ್ಣದ ವಸ್ತ್ರ, ರೇಶ್ಮೆ, ರಕ್ತಾಂಬರ, ಸಕಲ ವಿಧವಾದ ಅಗಿಲುಮರ, ಸಕಲ ವಿಧವಾದ ದಂತದ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳು, ಬಹು ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಮರ, ಹಿತ್ತಾಳೆ, ಸಕಲ ವಿಧವಾದ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳು, ಕಬ್ಬಿಣ, ಚಂದ್ರಕಾಂತ,
The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

13 ಲವಂಗ, ಚೆಕ್ಕೆ, ಧೂಪ, ಸುಗಂಧ ತೈಲ, ಸಾಂಬ್ರಾಣಿ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸ, ಎಣ್ಣೆ, ನಯವಾದಹಿಟ್ಟು, ಗೋಧಿ, ದನಗಳು, ಕುರಿ ಗಳು, ಕುದುರೆಗಳು, ರಥಗಳು, ಗುಲಾಮರು, ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಪ್ರಾಣಗಳು ಇವೇ ಮೊದಲಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಎಂದೂ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ದುಃಖಿಸುವರು.
And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

14 ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವವು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ ಹಣ್ಣು ಗಳು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋದವು; ಸೊಗಸಾಗಿಯೂ ಶೋಭಾಯಮಾನವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವವುಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋದವು. ಅವು ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

15 ಅವಳಿಂದ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತ ರಾದ ಈ ಸರಕುಗಳ ವರ್ತಕರು ಅವಳ ಯಾತನೆಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಅಳುತ್ತಾ ಗೋಳಾ ಡುತ್ತಾ--
The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

16 ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ಮಹಾನಗರಿಯೇ, ನಯವಾದ ನಾರುಮಡಿಯನ್ನೂ ಧೂಮ್ರವರ್ಣದ ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನೂ ರಕ್ತಾಂಬರವನ್ನೂ ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಚಿನ್ನ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳು ಮುತ್ತುಗಳು ಇವುಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವಳೇ,
And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

17 ಅಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವು ಒಂದೇ ಗಳಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಯಿತಲ್ಲಾ ಅನ್ನುವರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಹಡಗುಗಳ ಯಜಮಾನರೂ ಹಡಗುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜೊತೆಯಾಗಿರುವವರೂ ನಾವಿಕರೂ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಮಾಡುವವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು
For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

18 ಅವಳ ದಹನದ ಹೊಗೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ--ಈ ಮಹಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಾನವಾದ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಯಾವದು ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

19 ಆಗ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಲೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಧೂಳನು ಹೊಯಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ಅಳುತ್ತಾ, ಗೋಳಾ ಡುತ್ತಾ--ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ಅಯ್ಯೋ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಡಗುಗಳಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ದ್ರವ್ಯ ಗಳಿಂದ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಆ ಮಹಾ ನಗರಿಯು ಒಂದೇ ಗಳಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಳಾದಳಲ್ಲಾ ಎಂದು
And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

20 ಪರಲೋಕವೇ, ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧರಾದ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರೇ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೇ, ಅವಳ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಆನಂದಪಡಿರಿ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ದೇವರು ಇವಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿತು.
Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

21 ಆಗ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ದೂತನು ಬೀಸುವ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಲ್ಲಿನಂತಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಸಮುದ್ರ ದೊಳಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ--ಮಹಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾದ ಆ ಬಾಬೆಲು ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಕೆಡವಲ್ಲಟ್ಟು ಇನ್ನೆಂದಿಗೂ ಕಾಣಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

22 ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ವೀಣೆಗಾರರೂ ವಾದ್ಯ ಗಾರರೂ ಕೊಳಲೂದುವವರೂ ತುತೂರಿಯವರು ಮಾಡುವ ಧ್ವನಿಯೂ ಇನ್ನೆಂದಿಗೂ ಕೇಳಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾವ ವಿಧವಾದ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವರು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೆಂದಿಗೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಬೀಸುವ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಶಬ್ದವೂ ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೆಂದಿಗೂ ಕೇಳಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

23 ದೀಪದ ಬೆಳಕು ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೆಂದಿಗೂ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸು ವದಿಲ್ಲ. ವಧೂವರರ ಸ್ವರವು ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೆಂದಿಗೂ ಕೇಳಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ನಿನ್ನ ವರ್ತಕರು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ರಾಗಿದ್ದದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾಟದಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗ ದವರು ಮೋಸ ಹೋದರು.
And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
