Proverbs 26:2
ಅಲೆದಾಡುವ ಪಕ್ಷಿಯಂತೆಯೂ ಹಾರಾ ಡುವ ಬಾನಕ್ಕಿಯಂತೆಯೂ ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲದ ನಾಶವು ಬರುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

ಆಗ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಆಹಾರ ತಿನ್ನುವವನು ಶಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಜನರು ದಣಿದು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂದನು.

ನೀನು ಕೋಲು ಹಿಡುಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ನಾಯಿಯೋ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸಿದನು.

ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವರು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನೂ ನೀರನ್ನೂ ತಂದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬಿಳಾಮ ನನ್ನು ಕೂಲಿಗೆ ಕರಕೊಂಡರು. ಆದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರು ಆ ಶಾಪವನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು ಅಂದನು.
