ಎಜ್ರನು ನ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ನೀರಿನ ಬಾಗಲ ಮುಂಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಪುರುಷರ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಗ್ರಹಿಕೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಬೆಳಗಿನಿಂದ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ವರೆಗೆ ಓದಿದನು. ಜನರೆ ಲ್ಲರೂ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟರು.

ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ನೀವು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ವಾಕ್ಯವೆಂದೆಣಿಸದೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವೆಂದೇ ತಿಳಿದು ಅಂಗೀ ಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾವಂತೂ ಎಡೆಬಿಡದೆ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಸ್ತುತಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆ; ಅದು ನಂಬುವವರಾದ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಬಲವಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ನಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಗ್ರಂಥವು ಪಾರಾಯಣವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಗಳು--ಜನರೇ, ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ಜನರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳತಕ್ಕ ಬುದ್ಧಿಮಾತೇನಾದರೂ ನಿಮಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಹೇಳಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು.

ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಕೇಳುವವುಗಳ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ತಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇದ್ದವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಡುವದು; ಇಲ್ಲದವನಿಗೆ ತನಗೆ ಉಂಟೆಂದು ನೆನಸುವದನ್ನೂ ಅವನಿಂದ ತೆಗೆಯಲ್ಪ ಡುವದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಆಗ ಅವನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಮುರಿದು ಊಟಮಾಡಿ ಬಹಳ ಹೊತ್ತು ಬೆಳಗಾಗುವ ತನಕ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದನು.

ವಾರದ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಮುರಿಯುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ಮರು ದಿನ ಹೊರಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದ ಪೌಲನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಸಂಗಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಮಧ್ಯರಾತ್ರಿಯ ವರೆಗೂ ಉಪದೇಶ ವನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿದನು.
