ಸಭೆಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನರು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಸಭೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇ ಲ್ಯರ ಪ್ರಧಾನರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಗುಣುಗುಟ್ಟಿದರು.

ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಆತುರಪಡದಿರು ಮತ್ತು ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಯಾವದನ್ನು ಉಚ್ಚರಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ದುಡುಕದೇ ಇರಲಿ; ದೇವರು ಪರಲೋಕ ದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ನೀನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದ್ದೀ; ಆದ ಕಾರಣ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಕೊಂಚವಾಗಿರಲಿ.

ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯು ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿಸುವಂತೆ ಬಿಡಬೇಡ; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅದು ತಪ್ಪು ಎಂದು ದೂತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಡ; ಇದರಿಂದ ದೇವರು ಯಾಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಬೇಕು?

ಎಲ್ಲವು ಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ಬಗೆಯಾಗಿ ಸಂಭವಿಸುವವು. ನೀತಿವಂತನಿಗೂ ದುಷ್ಟನಿಗೂ ಸಂಗತಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನಿಗೂ ಶುದ್ಧನಿಗೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧನಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವವನಿಗೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸದವನಿಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ಗತಿಯಾಗುವದು. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ವನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಪಾಪಿಯೂ ಇರುವನು; ಆಣೆಯಿಡು ವವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಆಣೆಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವ ವನೂ ಇರುವನು.
