ಅವಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕುರುಬರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಂದೆಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಬರುವರು; ಅವಳ ಸುತ್ತಲು ತಮ್ಮ ಗುಡಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕುವರು; ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಯಿಸುವರು.

ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕ ದ್ನೆಚರನ ಸೇವಕರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು.

ಅವನ ಆಳಿಕೆಯ ಒಂಭತ್ತನೇ ವರುಷದ ಹತ್ತನೇ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಹತ್ತನೇ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕ ದ್ನೆಚರನು ತಾನೂ ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೈನ್ಯವೂ ಯೆರೂಸ ಲೇಮಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ದಂಡಿಳಿದು ಅದರ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ದಿಣ್ಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದರು.
ಯೆರೆಮಿಯ 4:16

ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ಯದ ಅರಸನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕುರುಬರು ತೂಕಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರು ಧೂಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರು ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚದರಿ ಹೋಗಿ ದ್ದಾರೆ; ಕೂಡಿಸುವವರು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
