ನೋಹನ ಜೀವಮಾನದ ಆರುನೂರನೆಯ ವರುಷದ ಎರಡನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಅಂದರೆ ಅದೇ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಹದಿನೇಳನೆಯ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಮಹಾ ಅಗಾಧದ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಡೆದವು. ಆಕಾಶದ ಕಿಟಕಿ ಗಳು ತೆರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವು.

ಅಗಾಧದ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಗಳೂ ಆಕಾಶದ ಕಿಟಕಿಗಳೂ ಮುಚ್ಚಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಬೀಳುವ ಮಳೆಯೂ ನಿಂತಿತು.

ನನ್ನ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಹಾರವಿರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಹತ್ತನೇ ಪಾಲು ಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸದ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನಿರಿ; ಇದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿರಿ; ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಕಾಶದ ಕಿಟಕಿ ಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದು ಸಾಕಾಗುವಷ್ಟಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗುವಷ್ಟು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸುರಿಸದಿರುವೆನೇ? ಎಂದು ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ಇಗೋ, ಕರ್ತನು ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿಟಕಿಗಳನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಹಾಗಾ ಗುವದೋ ಅಂದನು; ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ಇಗೋ, ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಂದ ನೋಡುವಿ; ಆದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನು ವದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನು.

ಆಗ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಹಸ್ತಕನಾದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ -- ಇಗೋ, ಕರ್ತನು ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿಟಕಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಸಂಭವಿಸಲಾರದು ಅನ್ನಲು ಎಲೀಷನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಂದ ನೋಡುವಿ; ಆದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
