Genesis 17:23
ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲ ನನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ತಾನು ಹಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಗಂಡಸರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ದೇವರು ತನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ಆ ದಿನವೇ ಸುನ್ನತಿಮಾಡಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡುಹೋದನು.

ನನಗೂ ನಿನಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ತರುವಾಯ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತಾನಕ್ಕೂ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳತಕ್ಕ ನನ್ನ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಏನಂದರೆ--ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗಂಡಸರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು.

ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಯಾದರೂ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಿಲ್ಲ, ಆಗದಿದ್ದರೂ ಪ್ರಯೋ ಜನವಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೆಲಸನಡಿಸುವ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಯಿಂದಲೇ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನು ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಇದ್ದಾನೋ? ಅವನು ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದವನಂತಾಗ ಬಾರದು; ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನು ಯಾವ ನಾದರೂ ಇದ್ದಾನೋ? ಅವನು ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು.
ರೋಮಾಪುರದವರಿಗೆ 4:9
ಈ ಧನ್ಯತೆಯು ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೂ ಆಗುತ್ತದೋ? ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಲೆಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯೇ ನೀತಿಯೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತೆಂಬದಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇವಲ್ಲಾ.
ರೋಮಾಪುರದವರಿಗೆ 2:25
ನೀನು ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡರೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಾದದ್ದೇ. ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ವಿಾರುವದಾದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯು ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಅಲ್ಲ.
ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರ ಕೃತ್ಯಗ 16:3
ಇವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಪೌಲನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಆಯಾ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವನ ತಂದೆ ಗ್ರೀಕನೆಂದು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
ಪ್ರಸಂಗಿ 9:10

ಕರ್ತನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮ ನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ನೆರವೇರುವಂತೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೂ ಆತನ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡು ನೀತಿನ್ಯಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡುವನು ಎಂದು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದದೆ ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.

ಅಬ್ರಹಾ ಮನೂ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನೂ ಅದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುನ್ನತಿಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
