ಎತ್ತು ಕತ್ತೆ ಕುರೀ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳ ವಿಷಯವಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಕಳೆದು ಹೋದ ಯಾವದೇ ತರದ ವಸ್ತುಗಳ ವಿಷಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಇದು ತನ್ನದೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ ಪಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಬರಬೇಕು. ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿ ಪತಿಗಳು ಯಾರನ್ನು ಅಪರಾಧಿಯೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸು ವರೋ ಅವನು ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.

ಕಳ್ಳತನ ಮಾಡಿದ ಎತ್ತಾಗಲಿ ಕತ್ತೆಯಾಗಲಿ ಕುರಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಕದ್ದವನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.

ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ನಿನ ಸಹೋದರನು ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸು; ಅವನು ಮಾನಸಾಂತರಪಟ್ಟರೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸು.

ಒಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಹಣವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಾಗ ಅದು ಅವನ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಕಳ್ಳತನವಾಗಿ ಆ ಕಳ್ಳನು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರೊಳಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಥರು ಅಂದರೆ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯ ಪಡುವವರೂ ಸತ್ಯವಂತರೂ ದುರಾಶೆಯನ್ನು ಹಗೆ ಮಾಡುವವರೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಇಂಥವರನ್ನು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನೂರು ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಐವತ್ತು ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಹತ್ತು ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಬೇಕು.
