ಆ ಕೊಂಬುಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಾನು ಆಲೋಚಿಸು ತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಕೊಂಬು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಇದರ ಮುಂದೆ ಮೊದ ಲಿನ ಕೊಂಬುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಬೇರುಸಹಿತ ಕೀಳಲ್ಪ ಟ್ಟಿವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇಗೋ, ಈ ಕೊಂಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳೂ ಬಡಾಯಿಕೊಚ್ಚುವ ಬಾಯಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದವು.

ಬಡಾಯಿ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ದೂಷಣೆಯ ಮಾತು ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಡುವ ಬಾಯಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು. ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತೆರಡು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರವು ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು.

ಆಗ ನಾನು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮರಳಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಂತೆನು, ಸಮುದ್ರದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಮೃಗವು ಏರಿ ಬರುವದನ್ನು ಕಂಡೆನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಏಳು ತಲೆಗಳೂ ಹತ್ತು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳೂ ಕೊಂಬುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹತ್ತು ಕಿರೀಟಗಳೂ ತಲೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ದೂಷಣೆಯ ನಾಮವೂ ಇದ್ದವು.

ಆ ಮಿಡಿತೆಗಳ ಆಕಾರಗಳು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಸನ್ನದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುವ ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಆಕಾರದಂತೆ ಇದ್ದವು ಅವುಗಳ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಕಿರೀಟಗಳೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಇದ್ದವು; ಅವುಗಳ ಮುಖಗಳು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮುಖಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಇದ್ದವು.

ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಕೊಂಬು ಮೊಳೆತು, ಬಹಳ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದು, ದಕ್ಷಿಣದ ಕಡೆಗೂ ಪೂರ್ವದ ಕಡೆಗೂ ರಮ್ಯ ದೇಶದ ಕಡೆಗೂ ಪ್ರಬಲವಾಯಿತು.

ಮುಖಸ್ತುತಿಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ತುಟಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಗರ್ವದಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕರ್ತನು ಕಡಿದು ಬಿಡುವನು.

ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಮೃಗವು ಭೂಮಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಬರು ವದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕಂಡೆನು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕುರಿಮರಿಗಿರುವಂತೆ ಎರಡು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳಿದ್ದವು; ಇದು ಘಟಸರ್ಪದಂತೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿತು.

ಅವನು ದೇವರೆಂದು ಕರೆಯ ಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಾತನನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಆರಾಧನೆ ಹೊಂದುವಾತನನ್ನು ವಿರೋಧಿಸಿ ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಘನತೆಗೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ದೇವರ ಹಾಗೆ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡವನಾಗಿ ತಾನೇ ದೇವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಇಷ್ಟದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡುವನು; ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೂ ದೊಡ್ಡವನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಂಡು ದೇವರುಗಳ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯವಾದ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ರೋಷವು ತೀರುವ ವರೆಗೂ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಿರುವನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿ ಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದು ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಡಲೇ ಬೇಕಾಗುವದು.

ಅವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕಡೆಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ, ಯಾವಾಗ ಅಪರಾಧಿಗಳು ತುಂಬಿ ಬರುವರೋ, ಆಗ ಕ್ರೂರ ಮುಖವುಳ್ಳವನೂ ತಂತ್ರವುಳ್ಳವನೂ ಆದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನು ಏಳುವನು.

ಅದರ ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಹತ್ತು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಾನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯಾವ ಕೊಂಬು ಮೊಳೆತು ಮೂರು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಬೀಳಿಸಿ ಆ ಎದ್ದು ಬಂದ ಬೇರೊಂದರ ಕೊಂಬಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ಹೌದು, ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಳ್ಳಂತ, ಬಹು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಬಾಯಿಯಂತ, ತನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯವರಿಗಿಂತ ಬಲವಾದ ನೋಟವುಳ್ಳಂತ, ಆ ಕೊಂಬಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಸತ್ಯಾರ್ಥ ವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದೆನು.
1 ಸಮುವೇಲನು 2:3
ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಗರ್ವದಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಕಠಿಣ ಮಾತು ಹೊರಡಬಾರದು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯುಳ್ಳ ದೇವರು. ಆತನಿಂದ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳು ತೂಗಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತವೆ.
