ಆಗ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಶದ್ರಕ್‌ ಮೇಷಕ್‌ ಅಬೇದೆನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬ ವರೇ ನೀವು ಬೇಕೆಂದು ನನ್ನ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸದೆ ನಾನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿರುವ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಆರಾ ಧಿಸದೆ ಇರಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವಿರೋ?

ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ಅರವತ್ತು ಮೊಳ ಎತ್ತರವಾಗಿಯೂ ಆರು ಮೊಳ ಅಗಲವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವ ಒಂದು ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪ್ರತಿ ಮೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿ, ಬಾಬೆಲ್‌ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೂರಾ ಎಂಬ ಬಯಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು.

ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಬೇಲ್ತೆಶಚ್ಚರನೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೇವರ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದನು; ಅವನಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಕನಸನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--

ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಹೊಂಚಿ ನೋಡದೆ ಇದ್ದು ದೇವರು ಅವನ ಕೈಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ನಾನು ನೇಮಿಸುವೆನು.
