ಆದರೆ ಉತ್ತರದ ಅರಸನು ಬಂದು ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ ದಿಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿ ಕೋಟೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳು ವನು; ದಕ್ಷಿಣದ ಭುಜಬಲವಾದರೂ ಅವನು ಆದು ಕೊಂಡ ಜನರಾದರೂ ನಿಲ್ಲುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಲವಿರುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು 8:7
ಅದು ಟಗರಿನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬರುವದನ್ನು ನಾನು ನೋಡಿದೆನು. ಅದರ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕ್ರೋಧದಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಾದು ಅದರ ಎರಡು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುರಿದುಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ಅದರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಟಗರಿಗೆ ಏನೂ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿ ರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಟಗರನ್ನು ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಉರುಳಿಸಿ ತುಳಿಯಿತು. ಟಗರನ್ನು ಅದರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸುವವನು ಯಾರೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಅವಳ ಗೋಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ಏರಿರಿ, ಕೆಡಿಸಿರಿ; ಆದರೆ ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಾಶಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಅವಳ ಕೋಟೆಯ ಉಪ್ಪರಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಡಿರಿ; ಅವು ಕರ್ತನವುಗಳಲ್ಲ.

ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಜೀವಿಸುವ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯಾವನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಲಾರನು. ನಾನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವೆನು. ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತೊರೆಯುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
