ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದಾಗ ಕೈಸರನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ನಾನು ಒತ್ತಾಯ ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟೆನು; ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವದೇಶದವರ ಮೇಲೆ ತಪ್ಪು ಹೊರಿಸುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲ.

ಆದರೆ ಮರಣದಂಡನೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾದ ಯಾವ ದನ್ನೂ ಇವನು ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಾನು ಕಂಡು ಕೊಂಡೆನು. ತಾನೇ ಔಗುಸ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳು ತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

ಆಗ ಪೌಲನು--ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡತಕ್ಕ ಕೈಸರನ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಸನದ ಮುಂದೆ ನಾನು ನಿಂತಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ನಾನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಅನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬದು ನಿನಗೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದದೆ.

ಅತಿ ಪ್ರಿಯರೇ, ನೀವೇ ಮುಯ್ಯಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸದೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವದನ್ನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಬಿಡಿರಿ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ--ಮುಯ್ಯಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸು ವದು ನನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸ, ನಾನೇ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವೆನು ಎಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂಬದಾಗಿ ಬರೆದದೆ.
