ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಾರುಗಳಿಂದ ಕಟ್ಟುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಪೌಲನು ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಗೆ--ರೋಮ್‌ ನವನಾದ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡದೆ ಕೊರಡೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡಿಸುವದು ನಿಮಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯವೋ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.

ನಾವು ಸಮುದ್ರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಿ ಇತಾಲ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿಶ್ಚಯ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಔಗುಸ್ತನ ಪಟಾಲಮಿನ ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಯೂಲ್ಯ ಎಂಬವನಿಗೆ ಪೌಲನನ್ನೂ ಬೇರೆ ಕೆಲವು ಕೈದಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವರು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.

ನಾವು ಮರುದಿನ ಸೀದೋನಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದೆವು; ಆಗ ಯೂಲ್ಯನು ದಯೆ ತೋರಿಸಿ ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯ ಮಾಡಿ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ವಿಶ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
