Exodus 12:17
ನೀವು ಹುಳಿಯಿಲ್ಲದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ಹಬ್ಬ ವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂತತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸದಾ ಕಾಲಕ್ಕೂ ಒಂದು ಶಾಸನವಾಗಿ ಈ ದಿನವನ್ನು ನೀವು ಆಚರಿಸಬೇಕು.

ನಾನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಮೇಲೆ ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ಅವರೊಳ ಗಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿ ದಾಗ ನಾನೇ ಕರ್ತನೆಂದು ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದು ಬರುವದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ನಾನೂರ ಮೂವತ್ತು ವರುಷ ಗಳು ತೀರಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಅದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋದವು.

ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನಾನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಕರ್ತನು ನನಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇದು ಆಚರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ.
