ನ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವ ರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯ ಮಂಜೂಷದ ಒಂದು ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡಿರಿ; ಅದು ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾದ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಲಿ.

ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಹೋರೇಬಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂಜೂಷದೊಳಗೆ ಇಟ್ಟ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಎರಡು ಹಲಿಗೆಗಳ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತೇನೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಆಗ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯನು ಲೇಖಕ ನಾದ ಶಾಫಾನನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದನು; ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯನು ಆ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಶಾಫಾನನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು; ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಓದಿದನು.

ನೀವು ಹೋಗಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ನನಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಜನರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿರಿ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಎಲ್ಲಾದರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಲು ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದದರಿಂದ ನಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಉರಿ ಯುವ ದೇವರ ಕೋಪವು ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿದೆ ಅಂದನು.

ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಹೊರಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬರುವಾಗ ಯಾಜಕ ನಾದ ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಕೈಯಿಂದಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡನು.
